Raceland 21 Ashland 16

Featured Replies

Okay so I thought it would be Raceland 35- Ahland- 10... So I was wrong but it is still sweet to the Rams (not pull it off) win like we at Russell thought they would. GREAT JOB for the RAMS..... Hope to see you guys on the field next year.

I thinl alot of people had this one picked wrong. I wasn't shocked though, I had seen both teams in the preseason and I knew the Rams were capable of the win. Capable of winning and winning are 2 different things.... Tomcats were also capable of winning this game... Devilologist, I'll see you at 10:00am.

Wonderful win for the Rams... :ylsuper:

Raceland used to be a power in NEKY. Here's hoping this is just the start of "the return" for you all !!!

Ashland...don't get too down. It's just game #1 - plenty of time to tune it in...

Where are you GIAT? Where OH Where has the GIAT Gone?

Great Job by Raceland again tonight I have many friends down in Raceland and I am overjoyed for them... The county of Greenup is shinging a little bit brighter tonight... good luck to Raceland in the rest of their season

By the sound of all the pre-season hype coming out of Ashland this year I am SHOCKED. Seems like all winter all we heard about was the number of players that were playing and the strides in the new weightroom. Good Luck to them the rest of the way. Still hope the Rock gets to see them in Region play this year.

First I want to say my heart goes out to Ashland Senior Luke Bonner. We are praying that all goes well. I hope the injury is not serious.Great kid with a lot of heart.

I agree cville, that kid plays his heart out. Bonner going out early tonight really hurt the cats. I am sure that he will be scheduled for an m.r.i. probably Sat.. J. Bonner if you read these threads/post you are one heck of a ball player.:thumb:

CONGRATS to the Rams for rolling into Putnam and putting one on Ashland! I called my buddy Parker to congratulate the team. When I asked if they were home yet he said they still hadn't gotten on the bus because the media was still interviewing! GREAT win for the Rams program. They have put together one heck of a staff and are getting the kids out of the hallways. With a win like this the snowball effect could be in place. It will really be interesting to see what happens when the are 1A after the new realingment. Congrats again, I'm proud of you guys!

Thanks stick, I echo cvilles comments on Parker. He has been and is invaluable to the Raceland Program. With him as Off. Coord. and working with and reciever's/db's and qb the Raceland offense is in excellent shape. Head Coach Vanderhoof certainly worked a wonderfull game and T.J. Maynard (Def. Coord.) had the Defense prepared and ready to play. Everyone I have talked to tonight said that the defense was really hitting, like the Rams of years past. Again congrats to Coach Randy Vanderhoof and ALL the staff on a great game plan and bringing home this win. With all of that said and the fire truck / late night pep rally goiong on at Ram Stadium tonight I will say this....Rams, enjoy this win tonight, you deserve it. NOW............ Lets get down off of the cloud and get ready for week 2 and Rowan Co.:thumb:

They were having a dance at the Tennis Courts tonight, scheduled before the win.

I'm a huge Rambler fan and I understand the excitement with the victory, but I think the fire truck lead back to the school is a bit much for a regular season win that truthfully means little other than some bragging rights. It is not as important as a win over Bath Co. and we dont lead the team back with sirens blaring when we return from Owingsville.

I'm proud of the players and coaches. Congratulations on a nice win. But the district games and playoffs are the real prizes. Lets take pride in a regular season win, but don't lose our minds. We've beaten Ashland before. Hopefully it is a building block to success in the post-season. A good first step forward.

Go Ramblers....

Congrats to a very good Raceland team! The Tomcats have a mighty big hill to climb, hope it dosen't take to long?? I didn't expect any less from the RAMS, good luck the rest of the season!:thumb:

Well, I see that the sun did come up this morning. I’m glad that I have a good recipe for crow. It’s not too bad after the first bite.

Congratulations to Raceland for the win. You played great football and earned it!!!

I hope the Tomcats get working and turn it around.

Congratulations to the Rams, and after reading on the poll thread for the past week, it appears that 30% of us were right. My prediction was Rams 21-20 and was fairly close. The game was called "fairly" well this evening. I saw 2 horrible calls but they were one each so I suppose they even out. There was an obvious hold on a Raceland kick return of 50+ and a horrible PF called on the Rams that Hoof lost his mind on, both directly in front of the same official (I don't know his name, but I believe he played Les Nesman on WKRP in Cincinnati). I also think few on here have given credit to the horses up front for the Rams. All week the story was Ashlands injured linemen, etc. and they had plenty of depth to replace. Frankly, Raceland controlled the line of scrimmage IMO on both sides of the ball. I do question why the Tomcats didn't stick with the inside counters which were obviously their most productive plays. Again, congrats to Raceland and good luck to both teams throughout the season, and to Bonner, hope he returns healthy very soon.

For those who are interested in the whereabouts of GIAT, I believe I saw him this morning at the gravesight of former poster AT41 explaining his Tomcats plight and he was having his crow delivered there ;)
