Article about Coach K lecturing Oregon's Dillon Brooks after game

Featured Replies

Article by Fox's sports Chris Chase. The article would be 100% agreed with and a great article by Duke and Coach K haters, or bad journalism taking a shot a Duke because they are a great program and just jealous, and nothing could be further from the truth about Coach K. Just interested to see what others think about this situation. Here's the link below:

Coach K came off as a jerk last night. Not the lecture, but denying it in the postgame and treating the media like they were stupid for asking.

Coach your own team. If Coach K had an issue with dude's antics, he should have told Dana in the hallway after the game and let Dana deal with it.

My two cents.

If K actually said it, it's kind of a jerk move. If the kid is lying about it, it is a jerk move.

FWIW very few teams just run the shot clock out in that situation without someone chunking up a long 3...if kid misses it, no one from Duke would have cared that he shot it.

Agreed.

Other than a kind word, or just a friendly chat, I am not sure of an instance that a coach should be addressing players from another team.

Well said. Not this his message was bad, and apparently Brooks took it to heart, but that is coaching 101 not to engage the opposition's players in that fashion.

Coach K is one of the sorest losers in all of American sports.

Again, the bigger issue is him denying he said it. Did the kid lie?

What made the lie occur was him being caught off guard and attempting to deflect the question before the reporter had the chance to finish it. I think it stunned him when the reporter told him that Brooks appreciated the message.

Probably best to move on, but it was certainly interesting.

No idea what was said because I don't read lips, but Coach K definitely spoke to the kid for much longer than usual in the post game handshake line.

I don't have any problems with Coach K telling the young man that. However denying it after the fact is kinda silly. You know folks will dig into this further to prove one of the two to be a liar.

Maybe the kid should have done a Pitino and flipped K off and then deny that.

New audio out. Coach K lied but more I feel bad for the kid. Biggest win in his life and no fun guy wants to steal the joy.
