:lol2: This thread is still going on?

This whole thing was blown so far out of proportion it's comical.

So, the way this works, start a thread then the "moderator" shouts down and insults everyone on the thread who doesn't agree with that view. And you put a thread at the beginning to say no one should insult and attack another person for you will be suspended or whatever, just omitted the fact that these rules don't apply to the moderator. As big a farce as Americans thinking they live in a democracy.

There is a difference between personal attacks/insults vs discussing the issue at hand.

I've been lurking on it, somehow it's still survived :lol2:

It's really simple. Coach K shouldn't have said anything at all. He should have went through the handshake line and said, "good job."

But he did say something, which wasn't bad but is a tad hypocritical considering that his own team did the same thing all season. Once he said something, he then lied about it. All he had to do was tell the truth and this story ends last Friday.

When did Duke shoot the ball and then celebrate wildly at halfcourt after making the shot when the other team conceded the game? I asked that before and I still haven't received an answer.

It just doesn't matter. When you're up 15-20 points, you don't dive on the floor and fire up shots at the end. And if you do, you surely don't call out another player or team for doing the same thing.

It does matter. You keep saying "Duke did the same thing" but in every clip I have seen both teams were still playing through the end. At the Duke/Oregon game Duke conceded the game and they weren't diving on the floor or playing defense at all. They were standing there waiting on the clock to hit zeroes. Show me a clip of Duke being up on someone by 10+ points still shooting the ball when the other team is just standing there and I'll agree that Coach K is being hypocritical. Until then I can't agree with the hypocritical claims of Coach K.

Starters shouldn't be in the game that late either. John Calipari lets his starters play way too late in blowouts. That's probably been my biggest thing that I dislike about his coaching style over the years.

Put aside the lying and poor move to approach Brooks, we get that. It has been mostly accepted it was wrong.

What I think this more showed was the egomaniacal behavior of big time college basketball coaches. When the reporter asked the question, instead of trying to control it, had he let the question unfold, he could have crafted a better answer that would've put this to rest by Friday at 8:00 a.m. He lied about a question that wasn't even asked.

Sometimes you can't trust the bench. We've seen teams come from 10 points behind in less than a minute. You have to be smart about it. I don't have a problem with starters staying in the game until a team is up 20 with 2 minutes to go. Better safe than sorry.

This year Coach K's bench was putrid and last year Cal's bench is currently the reigning SEC POY or in the NBA. :D

You know, if that kid shoots a brick....NONE of this happens.

You may be on to something. :lol2:

K handled this situation poorly, he has said he was wrong and apologized. For me end of story.
