March 5, 201610 yr So why was this called a Caucus today? Seems like it was more of a primary...just show up and vote...no meetings to discuss the candidates while there.
March 5, 201610 yr So why was this called a Caucus today? Seems like it was more of a primary...just show up and vote...no meetings to discuss the candidates while there. Because it was ran by the party and not the state election board. Many states do it this way, not everyone does it like Iowa where you have to stand in the corner of the person you like all day.
March 5, 201610 yr At West Jessamine it was long line to find what real line to to stand in About 20 minutes in total - 10 ineach line. Canuck Cruze and Kasich had tables with material. Trump and Robii tables were empty. State and house reps where there. Interesting approach. Families there. Everyone polite. Seemed to know it was crowded because it was history. Big turnout.
March 5, 201610 yr I was told of one county they did paper and pencil ballots and place them in a box with the slit cut in the top. Do they still do it this way?
March 5, 201610 yr Went to Summit View early this morning. The line was long, however it moved quickly (in and out in 30 minutes). Really felt bad for the elderly people with walkers. One lady was offered to just step up from the curb and join the people in the front but she refused. Glad to see such a great turn out for the caucus! Another person was out of town, and they could not cast a ballot until this afternoon. Still long lines and traffic was bad. Cannot wait to hear the results
March 5, 201610 yr Yes, the Kenton County Sheriff was standing by the ballot box as people dropped the paper ballots into the box.
March 5, 201610 yr Yes, the Kenton County Sheriff was standing by the ballot box as people dropped the paper ballots into the box. Well then your the second county I have heard doing this. So a voting machine could not be used?
March 5, 201610 yr I was told of one county they did paper and pencil ballots and place them in a box with the slit cut in the top. Do they still do it this way? That's what we did in Pendleton County.
March 5, 201610 yr I was told of one county they did paper and pencil ballots and place them in a box with the slit cut in the top. Do they still do it this way? This is how it was in Campbell County as well.
March 5, 201610 yr Not as long as the faces on GOP voters in November. That was funny (and could prove true though I hope not). Kentuckians finally get a voice in a primary and all they can do is complain about it... My thoughts too. An hour in line ain't bad. Just wait to see how long the bread line will be if the Dems keep winning the Whitehouse. We haven't seen the likes of it since the socialists held power in the USSR. :sneaky: I voted at Florence Baptist at about 2 pm today. The longest line was trying to get off the interstate and into the parking lot. Folks coming from Mt. Zion Rd towards Union had just as much trouble. What a bottle neck. However, once we found a parking place there was no trouble voting. Went in and found where to show ID. Signed in and got a ballot. Filled it in for a real conservative :sssh: and dropped it in the ballot box. A bit of a wait to get out of the parking lot but not too long.
March 5, 201610 yr Well then your the second county I have heard doing this. So a voting machine could not be used? No, paper ballots only
March 5, 201610 yr Yep. I doubt KY repubs will hold him accountable though. Hold him accountable how? Should they write an angry letter, telling them how angry they are? This is an honest question. While it's obvious to most this was done because of Paul I'm not sure how you "hold him accountable"?

March 5, 201610 yr By not voting for him in November I guess. Seems pretty petty, I'm not a fan of the guy myself. Just seems kinda silly to be angry at him because this is the best Republican party could come up with.
March 5, 201610 yr How is this negative ? KY primary actually matters for the first in the states history. To bad the KY democrat party doesn't think their constituents votes should matter.
