I saw alot of great things last Friday night in the Male Scrimmage. With Kramer out due to a minor injury, we got to see Josh Conner display some pretty awesome runs. Yes i know he is only a sophmore and there is alot to be learned, but the kid is going to be a good one. One of the Coaches told me the other night that Josh had 480 all purpose yards against Male. You just don't do that as a sophmore, especially against the team speed of a team like Male. It's going to fun to watch Jordan and Josh in the same backfield this year. It sure feels good to be a Bluebird. Can Dixie contain the dynamic duo this Friday night, only time will tell. Dixie should and will give Highlands everything they want. My guess is, you will be able to stop one running back but not the other. Tom deserves kudos for bringing Dixie back to a good solid football team year after year. It's not going to enough friday night as the Birds start off the season flying high.:thumb:

Nees, you expect a fast start for the Red Colonels this year? That is a heck of a first 3 games they have on the slate. I think it would be more likely to see Dixie start very slowly (0-3 or 1-2) and then get it cranked up for District and post-season play.

I would expect a fast start like the did a couple years ago. They return too many players with varsity experience not too. It's not like they are still trying to put the guys in the right positions. Everything is pretty much set. However, it wouldn't surprise me if they started out slow, as that's a common thing for them. However, I wouldn't constitute a 1-2 start as a slow start depending on the outcome of the games.

I think that if the game was played at Dixie (as it was scheduled to be) as the first game on the new turf field/stadium it might be a lot closer than it will be now that it is being played at Highlands.

Dixie runs back the kick on the 3rd kickoff team making it 49-7. Highlands reserves get a score late in the 3rd qtr. And the freshmen bunch one in with about a minute left making it 63-7.
