Dixie Heights at Highlands

Really? Oh well I guess you got me technically. Cause what HHS people do is talk about a percieved deficiency in an opponent due to the unspoken superiority of their own squad. 67-10 was posted by who a ludlow supporter?
You could not be more wrong and I'm kind of surprised that you would even say that.

I don't understand anyone who would want to paint a whole class of people with a broad brush, based on the comments of a few. It's especially troubling when they have no clue whether the people they're referencing are even a part of that group!

First of all 52, several of the blow out predictions come from non-Highlands fans. Second of all, at least two Highlands fans have predicted a close game. Thus, you may have been just a little bit off on your statement. I'm sure the Dixie players worked hard during the off season. Sandman32, a Dixie fan that I respect and trust, has told me that the Dixie players worked harder this off season than ever before. But you'll have to forgive some folks for not buying into that based on past performances and I believe him. But Dixie historically has not worked hard during the off season, has started the season out of shape and used the early part of the season to get into shape. Talking about how you've beat Ryle last year also is not going to necessarily garner a lot of respect from a lot of Highlands fans either (sorry Ryle fans). I can understand why you get tired of posts about Highlands. There are a lot of Highlands fans on here as well as other programs' fans, that while they don't necessarily like Highlands, do respect our accomplishments and our program. Furthermore Dixie has not had much success against Highlands in the past. Given that this year's Highlands team is projected to be a lot better than last years and you should understand some of the posts. Personally, I think the game will be closer than some have predicted and if Dixie is as good as they are projected to be and Highlands looks past Dixie, an upset may be in the making. In any event, we'll find out how good the respective teams are in just 4 days. Until then, I'd not let what some people think get under your collar too much.

I like this post. I'm gonna be a Misourrian on this game. Untill we prove we are going to work to be ready for week one, there is not much point beating on ones chest. I do agree with this post and hope that the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade kids read this. Winning means preparing. Preparing is what good teams do the ENTIRE year, not when mandatory practice starts.

You say it is if there's something wrong with that.

Exactly! It's not "perceived" superiority in cases where it's a fact.

Sorry, I've been catching up and guess I got caught up in all the negativity I've been reading. You are correct and I apologize. It's too easy to get yourself distracted and off track on hear and I did just that..

I have to say that the Bird fans that I talk to on here for the most part (99%) are as courteous, and polite as one could hope for. I'm sorry I distracted the thread away from the game.

I could use a little help here from someone...I'm getting beat from all sides!!!

I'd help....... but I was told that if I didn't go to this game that my taxes would be raised. :irked:

Now, now, now, I've made a committment to myself (thus such committment can easily be amended by the agreement of all parties to such committment) to be a kinder, gentler Leatherneck this season. I'm practicing breathing exercises, taking yoga, staying off the caffeine and trying to remember all the cute little lessons my Momma taught me about saying only nice things about people, in the hopes that such will help me with my committment. BF, Sandy32 was not referring to me...I think he was referring to that no good, lying, short, unintelligent, fair weather of a fan, scoundrel called StickyMitts.:ylsuper:

Thanks KB...I have decided to no longer comment regarding any of these teams.
