January 17, 201610 yr Let's expand on the last post: We need to tax the rich more so they pay their "fair share" We need to charge people with health insurance more either through premiums or out of pocket expenses so we can get more people without the means or motivation to pay for health insurance covered. We also need to make certain that all health insurance covers certain "necessary" services and that everyone pay for that additional coverage even if they will never use it. We need to make college "free" We need to forgive debt that people willingly took on (student loans) because we believe in is to onerous a burden to make them re-pay the loans. Bottom line, we NEED to get more people dependent on the government.
January 17, 201610 yr The poll you cited is not "scientific." Before you swallow the bait, let google be your friend. Two links below from the Washington Post. Read 'em and learn. The first deals with the accuracy of these online polls. The second deals specifically with how and why the poll you cited is flawed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2015/10/14/why-donald-trump-loves-online-polls/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/01/10/that-survey-showing-20-percent-of-democrats-backing-trump-come-on/ You provide links to a biased site. Typical.
January 17, 201610 yr Other code words: Liberal - The Republicans have done an awesome job co-oping liberal into the most negative of terms. Any Democrat regardless of where they stand on issues is immediately labeled liberal and all R's know what that means. Democrat = Liberal. New York Values - Now we have a new code word coined by Ted Cruz. He is trying to hang a label on Trump that will work with the Republican base voters.

January 17, 201610 yr The man who chose not to take out Osama Bin Laden. Is that how we're referencing Clinton now ... "the man who chose not to take out Osama Bin Laden"? Comical.

I can remember when "liberal" was a 7-letter word and not 4.
January 17, 201610 yr Redistribution of wealth Can someone please explain what this means? I'm not looking for a smart donkey answer so don't give one. I really have not followed the history and thoughts behind this. Yes of course I understand what the words mean, I just don't get the who, what, where and why.

I would arguess Democrats ruined the word liberal. They aren't actual liberals for the most part by the classical definition. Libertarians are actual liberals.

It's called government welfare and encourages people to not work because they know the government will steal from the working class to give them their fair share.
January 17, 201610 yr I think most of us are familiar with the premise. First time I've ever heard that it was code for "hope and change", however.
