We will see how CCH handles your team come Friday at a BiGGEr arena with space and hopefully with zebras not from Around here.

 

You can't be serious? CovCath under Ruthsatz plays a VERY handsy version of man-to-man. They consistently try to get in other players heads with grabbing off of the ball, trash talking, and that flicking the head back dribble thing that a lot of them do now. 9th Region officials in almost every single one of those games. Now it is an issue b/c the Colonels lost??? You can't have it both ways.

 

From my perspective, I really like how aggressive Ruthsatz has his players play. I like their cockiness, it seems to make them play a level higher. You just can't try to be the instigator, and then cry wolf once you get caught once.

When you are 6'10 you need to own little JV players.

 

Honestly I think this post is crap. Maybe UKMAN would like some honestly in regards to his critique of a 15 year old sophomore boy playing JV. :banana:

 

I haven't seen Jake play, but I know the stereotypical play I would expect from an almost 7 foot sophomore boy. More than likely the kid needs more grace and encouragement until he develops into his body than he does dads and the parents of his peers critiquing what his play should and shouldn't be at this point. I know that is probably tough when the adults have it all figured out. If that is sugar coating things, so be it. Consider me in the corner of the kid.

Just a side note, I thought that Terry Niehaus and Dave Bezold did an excellent job on the radio call of the game. Bezold added nice touches to the broadcast from a coaches perspective.

 

Just listened to the game. Was really bummed that I was not available to broadcast the game with Terry. I would like to thank Dave Bezold for stepping in for me as I was at Beechwood with the HC Girls team. Dave and Terry did a great job last night. Sounded like an unbelievable atmosphere in the Finn.

Also want to congratulate the Tribe, the 35 th district is always very good and as a Bulldog guy and former Latonia guy I am truly glad to see my friends at Holy Cross have a very-exciting and good team, once again congrats, the district should be very exciting. Beechwood is the host school this year and as far as I know they have not decided where to hold it.

Statman may have some input on where the district will be held, and Beechwood has a very good team this year also.

JV game was very competitive. #5 for HC is built like we all wish we would have been in high school. Steve Muck coaches them up. Ryan has a nice staff.

 

Tough night for Jake Walter as he had 3 fouls early. Tough calls. Finished with 10 points. HC kid battled him hard.

 

#24 on the jv team for hc is Joey Meinze. At almost 6'4'' and 175lbs he looked small compared to Walter. That is a big kid! Yes he battled hard, but he to was in foul trouble early then sat for a while. Thought they both were called for things at first that should have let slide.

As for the varsity game, it was a great game and could have went either way. Yes hc was at home, but I bet they don't use that excuse if they lose to an opponent on the road. No need for reasons or excuses, it's a game, somebody gets to win, somebody had to lose. In basketball you don't have to be a dominant team all year, you only have to be the better team the day you play to beat that "great team". But hc had been good all year so far let's give them the credit they deserve. Cov Cath is good and could beat hc or anyone at anytime.

That decision is above my pay grade and have no insight into where they will be held. Like some people I know, I would like it to remain at Beechwood. I know there isn't much seating, but I still like the HS gym atmosphere above moving it to somewhere to accommodate a larger number fans.

Kid battled and I thought he had some tough calls on him.

I'm also at a loss on the bashing... I feel it is being done by just one person in particular and it is hard to figure out what really precipitated it.

 

For some reason, this person does not feel that Clyde is entitled to his own thoughts/opinions unless they are in line with his. To say that how someone see's something as not being honest and actually says they are wrong... is quite comical.

 

I think that Post #56 is pretty telling. What he is claiming Clyde does.... he seems to actually be doing a pretty good job of in his own posts.

For the record, ZERO chance Scott and his staff gave the boys an "out" for losing at the Finn. Guaranteed that didn't come up after the game. Floor is the same size. Rims are the same height. HC was only allowed to play 5 at a time.

No worries. One guy has a stiff one because a 15 year old kid isn't yet a great player. He didn't like that I saw some positives in the kid's game.

 

But remember, he has put three kids through CCH so....
