I should mention that we saw the thread about the Wisconsin schools not being allowed to chant much any longer. The two student sections were strong last night. Respectful. Fun. Added to the atmosphere.

And how nice is that HC now has A/C in their gym! That and the new scoreboard made it even more enjoyable.

For the record, ZERO chance Scott and his staff gave the boys an "out" for losing at the Finn. Guaranteed that didn't come up after the game. Floor is the same size. Rims are the same height. HC was only allowed to play 5 at a time.

I wasnt referring to the coaches or players. I was referring to some on here who like to use that excuse.

I know. I just wanted to make it clear that while some fans might think it's a big advantage that viewpoint is not shared by the staff. They're mad they didn't win this game.

Thought CCH made 1 mistake last night Cole should have guarded Bezold, Beez was just too strong for the other kids and he got a lot of points in the paint. They did put him on beez late in the game. Also CCH has a nice team but they are playing a lot of young kids and HC is a senior dominated team that seemed to be just more physical than CCH, CCH has more skilled players but Senior dominated teams can be a big advantage. Both teams play very hard and are well coached, saw HC play Henry Clay in Lexington and even though they were outmanned at about every position they never backed down which i always like to see in a team, one thing about CCH is the Cole kid is just one tough kid he isn't afraid to make big play, on neutral floor i would lean to CCH but HC plays hard and won't be an easy out for anyone. Regarding the Refs overall decent job but there was one charge on a CCH player that I thought was a really bad call, HC player wasn't close to being in position but home teams usually get a few more calls just part of why it is tough to win on the road at any level if the teams are fairly close in talent.

Bezold shooting:

9/12 from 2.

2/7 from 3.

5/5 from the line.

Additonal stats. Clearly 2 of the top teams in the 9th. This game could have gone either way.

Free Throws:

Cov Cath 18/19

Holy Cross 21/27

Rebounds:

Holy Cross 27

Cov Cath 26

Turnovers:

Holy Cross 12

Cov Cath 8

That is a strong performance at the charity stripe by CCH, probably as strong as I've ever seen at a high school game. Good thing HC went into the last few minutes with a lead because there is no coming back on a team that shoots like that from the line.

I would assume Cole had at least half of those FTs. Aggressive going to the rim.

Mayer probably had the 2nd most.

Vonhandorf 7/7

Ruthsatz 5/5

Mayer 4/5

Flood 2/2

Felt like Cole was the line more than that. Thanks.

Flood should have gotten a bonus for banking in the 1 FT.

Holy moly! Just read through this thread. I get this feeling that an anonymous email will be sent soon! Wow!

Wow. That was an interesting time at CCH.

Is there a limit on number of players and coaches a team can have in the District and Regional tournaments? I only ask because CCH had 7 coaches on the bench and HC had 18 players dressed last night. There wasn't enough seats for either team to accommodate all of those people.

No limit on coaches. I think the limit on players is 15.

It was funny watching Houston with half a cheek on the last seat until Ann J brought him a chair.
