No limit on coaches. I think the limit on players is 15.

 

It was funny watching Houston with half a cheek on the last seat until Ann J brought him a chair.

 

A couple of the CCH guys had to sit behind the bench in the fan section for a while.

The best part about this thread is people angry about Chappie and where he sits. No former player in the 9th thinks Chappie is bias. We might all joke with him about being blind but not bias .

 

I know these are new posters and not normal CCH posters but lord the little team in Latonia won for once. It's ok kids calm down.

 

I never once said he was bias, just said it looks bad being there, standing around the HC bench, chatting it up with all his friends, for two plus hours before he heads to get ready for the game. If he wants to watch the freshmen game, I am sure HC would have had no issue getting him upstairs where the radio broadcasters were, but why would they when they can sit there and talk it up with him. I wasn't sure who the other refs were, what time did they show for the game yesterday?

 

And I was a neutral observer at the game, I congratulate HC on their win, they deserved to win. Bezold was the hardest worker on the floor. He uses every bit of his god given talent! Based on what I saw, I think there will be a different outcome if they meet again, away from the Finn.

Charlie is a Holmes grad. He has ties to every school simply because he knows everyone. There isn't a gym he walks into without a lot of people saying "Hey, Charlie."

I am unaware of who has ties with whom, all I did was bring up something that looked awkward to myself and others. I guess it is good the Region will be referred with refs from other regions, you wouldn't want all those ties to influence a game. And before you jump down my throat, I never insinuated that was the case last night. It just does not seem to be professional to be standing around, shooting bull with whomever, 3 hours before you are to referee such an important game.

He should, hell he ref'ed my 5th & 6th grade games at the Boy's Club in Newport back in the mid to late 70's. He loves it when I remind him of that. :lol2:

My boy had the assignment of guarding him Saturday and now feels better about the job he did! Unfortunately they switched off at times. Perhaps the best defense was the nose bleed taking him to the bench. It has been said before not super athletic but a darn good basketball player that get's it! I am a fan.

Is there a limit on number of players and coaches a team can have in the District and Regional tournaments? I only ask because CCH had 7 coaches on the bench and HC had 18 players dressed last night. There wasn't enough seats for either team to accommodate all of those people.

 

No more than 15 players are allowed to dress for District, Region and State and these 15 players MUST be listed on the online roster.

Chappie is as straight as it comes when calling games. I feel comfortable enough, and know Mr. Chappie well enough, to say that there is ZERO chance that having a friendly conversation with people that he knows had any bearing on how he calls a game.

Your words are commendable, and it's big of you to bring yourself to convey them.

 

Don't feel like you have to leave. I'm sure that I speak for everyone that you're always welcome here.

 

I've lost count of how many times I've put my foot in my mouth, and I'm sure others feel the same way.

 

Everyone here has their own unique personality, and that's one of the major reasons that this site it so interesting, and I guess that everyone can relate to when they first joined of testing the waters to see where they fit in, or how others might react to what they say, and how close to the line we can come without crossing it.

 

Many, including myself, no matter how long we've been here at times still test these waters, and that line. No doubt if some feel that the line has been crossed they won't hold back in saying so.

 

This site is a great testing tool in civility when people don't always see eye to eye, where it challenges us to learn diplomacy all the while presenting our stance or views.

 

Is it perfect?

 

No, but the ingenious premise that the Guru started it, and has maintained it with has been pretty effective and largely successful all these years.

 

This is really a great place to hang out for fun, interesting, and even intense discussions. I don't think anyone would have the intention of making you feel uncomfortable, or scaring you off.
