The superintendent of Fayette County Schools is wanting Bryan Station to play up so that they are not the only Lexington Public School not in 6A. I have a feeling that they will and that will make a 5 team district.

I can not believe that Harlan and Shelby County are in the same district. That should be a nice bus ride.

I thought Southwestern was in 6A why were they put back in 5A with this website?

It looks like they averaged current and last four years male enrollment and that put them in 5A.

You'd definitely think that Highlands, CovCath, and other teams might move into 5A. I mean really, what teams are there to challenge them on the eastern side? The only teams with power seem to be in the west.

Mayfield and Beechwood (300-plus miles apart) potentially meeting every year in the semifinals?

Hear that noise?

It was the collective cheer given up by Pikeville, Paris, Lynn Camp, ....

You would have thought that they would have taken a look at how some proposed state final matchups might have looked like...especially in Class A where you could have Mayfield and Beechwood playing each other in the sub state game instead of the finals. And talk about a haul going to one place or the other...the way gas prices are going up we will all need to re-mortgage our homes, and sell our first born sons to be able to make the trip. Just would have thought that the only two legitimate Class A teams from the recent past would have only met in the finals...also through in Louisville Holy Cross and only of the new newfound Big III in Class A only one would make it to Papa Johns...or wait they may move that as well to the little cornfield past the shed.

At least we have one final year of "GOOD" high school football before this comes into effect.

Good luck to all the teams this year...and for the players reading this site...take care during practice during this scorching heat boys!!!

Then what is this?

Class 6A

1,440 Trinity (Louisville)

1,390 St. Xavier

1,142 Paul Dunbar

...

You will find the answer HERE.

PY4Boy column. Which is the 2005 male enrollment, 4 grades.

But Southwestern's should have been 497 I guess instead of 772. The 772 must be a typo.

Then what is this?

Class 6A

1,440 Trinity (Louisville)

1,390 St. Xavier

1,142 Paul Dunbar

1,084 Henderson County

1,008 Henry Clay

983 Lafayette

967 Eastern

936 Scott County

927 Pleasure Ridge Park

891 Daviess County

881 Seneca

842 Tates Creek

826 Central Hardin

823 DuPont Manual

816 Nelson County

803 Conner

801 George Rogers Clark

800 Madison Central

793 Ballard

772 Shelby County

772 Southern

772 Southwestern

768 Campbell County

763 Meade County

762 Boone County

736 Ryle

734 Male

725 Marshall County

722 Simon Kenton

716 North Hardin

713 Butler

701 Apollo

698 Greenwood

689 Graves County

687 Fern Creek

678 Bullitt Central

You need to ask Sandman, he is the one that posted that.

Lloyd in 2A works for me...

Those district travel times look pretty good now. :thumb:

:jump:

I say that it should be

PRP, Southern, Fern Creek, Bullit East

Manual, Male, X, Butler

Trinity, Ballard, Seneca, Eastern

Now you've got the southern schools together, the city schools together, and the eastern schools together. The only reason not to do it this way is if they're planning on bringing back the old playoff format, which I've been told wasn't happening.

Are you nuts!?! Male, Manual, and X still in the same district? I say split the Big 3 since there are three districts.

How about:

1) Butler, Fern Creek, Male, Manual

2) Bullitt East, PRP, Southern, X

3) Ballard, Eastern, Seneca, Trinity

-or- (better still)

1) Butler, Fern Creek, Male, Seneca

2) Bullitt East, PRP, Southern, X

3) Ballard, Eastern, Manual, Trinity

I don't know why they are keeping X and Male in the same district in the first place. When you have three districts and three dominant programs, why would you double two of them up? Heck, why not put X, Trinity, Male, and Manual in the same district (they could call that district class 7A).

Yeah, but Seneca is closer to St. X than it is to Trinity.

I say that it should be

PRP, Southern, Fern Creek, Bullit East

Manual, Male, X, Butler

Trinity, Ballard, Seneca, Eastern

This is probably the best way to divide up Jefferson County, also trading districts between Male and PRP wouldn't be that bad either.

Paducah Tilghman will never lose another district game

your not kidding

Highlands should win their Distrcit games by an average of around 70 points.

1A is pretty weak with the exception of a few teams although it will by fun to see some of the little schools have a better shot. Boyle/Lex Cath in the same District is very intriguing. That class with Cov Cath, Rock, Bell etc all in the East puts some GREAT programs facing each other. Woodford Co having to go to Johnson Central/Ashland and vice versa is a long haul for a District game. Russell and Mason back in the same District is interesting much like the old days.

Right now I think it waters things down a lot but hopefully after teams move up etc things will even out some.
