Brandon Phillips (NOT) Traded to Washington

I can hit a couple of golf shots and be in his front yard.

Actually if you used the ole "Tin Cup" trick and hit it from your front yard down the middle of the street you might be able to reach his yard. :ylsuper:

So he's about 100-150 yards away?

I probably need one of those long driver contest participants I watched last night.

So are we dismissing the possibility he increases his trade value next season?ICH.png

I need a 9 iron and I could probably land one in his driveway from my backyard. I do have to go over top of some big Oak Trees though.

The deal I guess with the Nats is officially off just saw on MSN that the Nationals are going to sign Daniel Murphy to a three year deal.

I wonder if Brandon still feels the same way he did a week ago about not taking the Nats trade?

Why would he not?

100 win season versus 100 loss season?

The losses won't affect his bank account. He asked for a financial incentive to uproot his family and the Nationals weren't interested. I don't get went this makes him a bad guy. Maybe he likes it where he is at.

Who said anything about him being a bad guy?

I agree with you EZ. It seems like people who question why BP would hold up the trade are being labeled BP haters. I LIKE BP. However, I think he screwed up in vetoing the trade. Supposedly, Dusty is like a second father to BP and he could have went to a contending team instead of staying on the worst team in baseball next year. I think he played chicken with the Reds and Nats and lost. Now it may be a mess in Cincy this year in terms with how much he plays. Again, I don't dislike him at all but I think he may regret the decision. If I was a guy who has never played in a WS before and was going to be on a team that has NO CHANCE the next few years, I would love to go to a team with a manager I love and a chance to be very good. He chose not to. He may end up wishing he didn't. That is all I am saying.

I couldn't agree more.

Agree as well.

This

Walt said on the radio tonight "Brandon staying with Reds may not be the best decision for Brandon." It almost sounds like they are going to be making plans without him. He also said Brandon hasn't said he would block every trade. He is still trying to shop him.
