Brandon Phillips (NOT) Traded to Washington

Featured Replies

That's my point. Everybody is complaining because BP nixed the trade offer. Now everybody is calling for him to benched. They are completely rebuilding and BP should leave is there reasoning. But why should Votto be exempt?

Because there was a trade for Phillips in place. He won't be here in 2 years. There is not a team wanting to take on Votto's contract and he is here until 2023. He will be here after the "rebuilding".

Votto needs to go too then. Why keep Votto? Same boat as BP.

I don't know why you say whatever happens to BP has to happen to Votto. Trust me, if the Reds could trade Votto, they would....but they won't find many, if any suitors because of his contract.

I'm not mad at him...maybe he just likes The Queen City / Northern Kentucky Area. DC not a great area to live and a commute from a good area isn't as easy in DC as he has it now.

Dick Waggener tried to convince Johnny Bench to go to ST. Louis or Kansas City for the "Good of the team" and I think Bench told him to stick it.

You'd think the BoSox, Yankees or other deep pocket team with a need would be willing to pay for his consistent bat in the lineup.

I can assure that there a few teams and a few teams only who could take that on. If they want a complete overhaul then they need to trade Votto also. I would say get rid of Bailey, but the Reds are the only team dumb enough to pay him that much.

BP has some really awesome neighbors here in Ft Thomas. That's why he veto'd the trade. Lol

Can I assume you're one of those awesome neighbors? lol

He does live right around the bend from me at the end of the cul de sac. I have seen him walking his tiny little dog and pushing his little boy on walks. He is a nice dude and I think he does like the area a lot. I'm not surprised...I know he literally just poured a ton of money into some construction on his yard which is about an acre.

Back on my soap box to sponsor a 'pay for performance' salary cap in baseball with a hard cap on projected spend.

Nothing like walking through my Front yard and seeing what Vehicle BP will drive by next. Some of the Vehicles stick out like a sore thumb is to how I know it's BP heading to and from Work. Hope he stays! Actually either way would be a winner for me. My wife already has his house sold if he is traded. It's been sold for about 6 months now. Just waiting on the Reds & BP to make their moves. :ylsuper:

Well hopefully BP will accept a trade if another one is made, and @Clyde can move into his new house.

Yep....

That means he would be closer to Highland Park!:sssh:

I can hit a couple of golf shots and be in his front yard.

So he's about 100-150 yards away?
