Dixie stadium progress, will they play Highlands at Highlands?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if Dixie's field will be ready for the first game?  Or will it be held at Highlands?

It's supposed to be at Dixie, But I don't think it'll be ready. There's just too much work to be done. I think the field per say will be ready, but the parking and other buildings probably will not be all completed. If I'm wrong, I'll be happy, but as of right now I think we plan on a game at Highlands and hope we're surprised.

Any predictions?

That's also what I'm hearing...

You guys can "get er done". Just pull a few "all nighters" and throw in community volunteers and you'll be surprised what can be accomplished.:thumb:

Not as simple as the HHS or CCH jobs. Its a complete mess still.

The field is the least of my worries, it's laying the blacktop and building all the buildings. I think the field and stands could be ready before the 1st of the month, but I'm not sure where it is slated to be installed in the project. Same for the track. It's just a huge project is all I can say.

A good thing is always worth waiting for.:thumb:

I am in no way slighting you in the installation of your field turf, but I think the total cost the HHS project was around $600,000 correct? If so, then consider this, we are spending 16.67 times that amount. $10,000,000. That's alot of work over one summer.

Any predictions?
For the game or the field being ready?

I know, you meant the game.

Highlands by 20. I've seen a few of the players for the first time since the end of last season and all I can say is :scared:, wow do they look pumped!

Yeah, I love that avatar Henry! That would make a cool framed photo!

As for the game, it would be nice to have one more home game; but it will be a tough one either way.

It sure is. Henry understood that but was just trying to be "encouraging". It sounds like it is going to turn out to be really neat and as Henry said, will be well worth the wait. While I like playing at home, I hope its ready for the game. I'd like to see the Birds be Dixie's first opponent on the field.

Now as Henry admonished, get off of this site and get on the construction site. You can pull a little concrete.

I just check Dixie's schedule and if they played HHS away it would allow them almost a full month to finish this project. Their next home game is Sept. 15. I'd say that they probably looked into this already.
