Sean Lewis - Bowling Green, averaging 585 PPG

Sterlin Gilbert - Tulsa, 527 PPG

For the record, word is Sonny Dykes wants out at Cal.

It's hard to win when you're making a lot of changes week after week, year after year. You need some sort of consistency for these players to get better. It looks like UK keeps trying to run new stuff to attack the defense instead of making minor adjustments.

Who would you all want as the new OC?

Here are some choices

1. Baylor OC (Kendal Briles) averaging 58 PPG. averaging 638 total yards of offense a game.

2. TCU OC (Sonny Cumbie / Doug Meacham) TCU always ranked in top 25

3. Florida State OC (Randy Sanders / Lawrence Dawsey) Stoops has ties to the FSU program.

4. Lane Kiffin (Alabama OC)...Yes it's Lane Kiffin but Alabama is Alabama....

5. Mississippi State OC (John Hevesy / Billy Gonzales) Miss State has been really good past couple of years

5. Major Applewhite (Houston OC) Houston seems to be doing well past couple of season's

6. Eliah Drinkwitz (Boise State OC) Boise State is well, Boise State

7. Someone else?

The main problem with this is you listed offensive coordinators for other teams. Why would any of them leave their current positions as offensive coordinators to be the offensive coordinator at UK? They wouldn't be moving up as a coach and potential to do bad. While where they are at has their best chance to to do well and land a Head coach gig somewhere eventually.

Dawson ain't going anywhere. Keep this thread open for a future topic. I'd be shocked if they fired him. UK recruited players for a spread not the inverted wishbone. UK will start to recruit a more run first athlete. O linemen, tight ends and running backs will help Dawson. I'm sure he gets a pass for his first year mistakes.

The inverted bone is a newer part of the Air Raid and is being utilized by several "System" teams.

Running the ball 55% of the time on first down isn't being done by several of the system teams.

UK does not run the Air Raid. Dawson doesn't and Brown really didn't either. My thoughts are the OC's at UK have been pressured to run the ball to shorten the game and keep games close. The Air Raid talk brought excitement with people thinking back to the Mumme days, but there is no way I believe Stoops truly wants to run the Air Raid.

I have had that feeling as well.

Its doubtful Dawson is fired. The thing this organization and the OC position needs is stability of some sort. The first year an OC comes in they have their strategy but they do not know the personnel. Dawson seems to have have had strategy that favored the pass and did not emphasize the run. But with a starting QB that had accuracy issues and receivers who drop way too many balls the strategy, in hid-sight, seems flawed.

Now that Dawson knows his personnel - both assistants and players - better he should do better next season. He better.

Priorities for next season:

1. Fix the QB controversy

2. Fix the receivers execution and attitude.

3. Make the run game a plausible threat.

Finally Stoops has to get his coaches working better overall as a unit during games. The disorganization issue is real and he better address it. The coaches should be on-top of every detail on game-day and ooze control and confidence from start to finish. Its just too hectic and all the issues with timeouts and delay of game and not enough players on field for punts, etc. etc. show it.

I think if he doesnt make changes it will be his last year I think, dont see them improving that much unless you make changes

Jeff Brohm would do a good job if he were not otherwise gainfully employed. What is the pay scale for the OC at Kentucky?

Neal Brown made $550,000 as OC at UK. Eliot makes $500,000 so I'm assuming Dawson is in the same ballpark.

Thanks for the info.
