November 15, 201510 yr Who would you all want as the new OC? Here are some choices 1. Baylor OC (Kendal Briles) averaging 58 PPG. averaging 638 total yards of offense a game. 2. TCU OC (Sonny Cumbie / Doug Meacham) TCU always ranked in top 25 3. Florida State OC (Randy Sanders / Lawrence Dawsey) Stoops has ties to the FSU program. 4. Lane Kiffin (Alabama OC)...Yes it's Lane Kiffin but Alabama is Alabama.... 5. Mississippi State OC (John Hevesy / Billy Gonzales) Miss State has been really good past couple of years 5. Major Applewhite (Houston OC) Houston seems to be doing well past couple of season's 6. Eliah Drinkwitz (Boise State OC) Boise State is well, Boise State 7. Someone else?
November 15, 201510 yr My question is what makes you think that anyone on this list would leave their current situation for Kentucky?
November 15, 201510 yr Going through an offensive coordinator every year isn't going to fix the situation. I have a suspicion that neither of the coordinators that they have had the last 2 seasons have been able to run exactly what they want. First they don't have the personnel. Second I feel like Stoops wants them to run more and that limits the air raid that they've touted.
November 15, 201510 yr Mike Leach No kidding, those guys would die from laughter if they got the call from UK. Sometimes I wonder if the best Coordinators are not coaches who were fired, ie they were an effective coordinator somewhere, got their first coaching job but just couldn't do it as a head coach so got fired and now need a job.
November 15, 201510 yr At this point I would take a peewee football offensive coordinator who has had moderate success over Shannon Dawson and I say that with a straight face.
November 15, 201510 yr A monkey could choose plays tgat would score from inside the 5 and 1st and goal. How many Red Zone opportunities have stalled this year due to ridiculous play calling? I say enough to warrant an OC firing.

These OC's would not be very effective with UK's personnel. Most of these programs have had very effective dual threat QB's and skill position players far above what is on UK's roster. I think I've seen enough of Towles. I would like to see the more athletic Barker on the field.
November 15, 201510 yr A. NONE of those people are coming to Kentucky. B. Not many people would even be interested if Stoops gives Dawson 1 year, because they wouldn't trust him. C. What we are running isn't really Air Raid and isn't even close to what Leach and Franklin are doing now. D. Red zone scoring is hard, red zone stats are a thing because its hard. E. The OL couldn't get anything on 3rd and 1 so why should they do well against a loaded box in the red zone? F. Stoops made more mistakes yesterday than Dawson did.
November 15, 201510 yr I'll take Donnie Walker. And I'm serious. He would take it, and he'd be a much better play caller.
November 15, 201510 yr Jeff Brohm would do a good job if he were not otherwise gainfully employed. What is the pay scale for the OC at Kentucky?
