I just think it comes down to limited space to keep the good handy to be prepared. Buns take the spot of muffins or bagels. Burgers take over for sausage. Those kitchens are small and real estate is at a premium.

Side note. What there yesterday with a coupon for a free beak fast sandwich on a buy one get one from an old reds ticket. Note on ticket said only valid during breakfast hours.

I am part of their INCREASE in foot traffic. I haven't gone to McD's after 10:30 AM in forever. Now I do. I love breakfast food.

McDonalds food is garbage.

I think the biggest "Get" for them is from 10:30 til until about noon each day and later at night. They had already started serving breakfast locally after midnight anyway.

 

I think it will end up a net gain, they just have to figure out the ins and outs to be efficient.

I used to work at McDonalds when I was in high school. I worked mornings into early afternoon. By far the most difficult time was when we had to transition from breakfast to lunch. You had to start lunch before breakfast was finished. There was never enough workers in the kitchen to stay on top of everything. There also was not enough equipment. Eggs and burgers were cooked on the same grill, but at different temperatures. This was almost 25 years ago, some things are done differently now, but there is no way I would have wanted to have to deal with breakfast all day as an employee.

You know, over the past couple of years I've noticed more folks working at McD's that they may not have hired before. The places also seem dirtier than just a few years ago. Now when you go to eat in, there is hardly ever a clean table/booth, you hear workers arguing with each other and the cook area looks like a garbage can. I agree with CBDV that attitudes of these folks is also worse. Used to be you could count on McDonald's service, but not any more, it's non-existant. (And it's not at McD's exclusively either)

You get what you pay for at fast food places, as a rule.

I worked at McDonald's in the 90s and worked at a few different ones. All of the ones I worked at had a separate grill for breakfast foods like eggs and hotcakes. All of the meat was cooked on one grill. I hated the transition also. Having to man two grills was murder. I'd imagine that those stores would have to staff both grills in order to be efficient. Eggs are still needed to be made and you can't make them on the same grill with meat. That's nasty.

McD's was successful because no matter where you went you knew what you were getting, they were clean and the staff was friendly.

 

No the only McD's around me that is good is the one in downtown Pikeville. The other s are hit and miss if they can even get your order right.
