Funny thing with All Day Breakfast at McD's

 

Wife and daughter like Sausage Egg Biscuit...but they are over $3.00 apiece

So I normally order them a $1 Sausage Biscuit and a side order of scrambled eggs and let them build their own...saves me over $3 doing it this way.

 

Now after regular breakfast hours are over, you can't order a scrambled egg...but you can order a sausage egg biscuit :idunno:

All day breakfast is working, and working well.

McDs increased same store sales by 5.7% which is two times higher than expected. All-day breakfast was the driver.

OK....I haven't been in a McDonalds in a while, but when I do, it is usually for breakfast. Is there a compromise where maybe they offer a limited breakfast menu all day?

On the rare occasions I visit McD's, I do something similar. Get two McDoubles with only Mac sauce. $2.60.

It is limited, they don't offer it all.

I remembered the downside of McDonald's today: I ordered a Filet O' Fish. Heaven above that is a bad sandwich. I hadn't been to a McDonalds in a long time. It'll be a while before I visit again.

McDonald's is testing Gilroy Garlic Fries in some of its San Francisco locations. This might be an acquired taste. Not everyone is a fan of the, uhh, aromatic bulb.

 

But there's nothing smelly about McDonald's stock price. The stock is up more than 10% this year and is trading at an all-time high.

 

It's been on an incredible McTear over the past year, gaining nearly 55% since Steve Easterbrook was promoted from chief brand officer to CEO in January 2015.

 

Mickey D's has outperformed rivals Burger King parent Restaurant Brands, Wendy's, Sonic and Shake Shack as well as KFC and Taco Bell owner Yum Brands by a wide margin over the last 12 months.

 

Easterbrook, who officially took over in March 2015, quickly revamped the company's menu, introducing newer customized sandwiches, all day breakfast options and healthier ingredients like super food kale.

 

Consumers -- and Wall Street analysts -- have responded favorably to all the changes. McDonald's reported same-store sales growth of 6.2% worldwide for the first quarter last month. That followed a 5% increase in the fourth quarter.
