So I'm suppose to be surprised senior citizens are racists. I guess we have different views because I'm around people in there 20's to 40's and I've rarely heard anything you mentioned.

 

I'm right on Papa's trail age wise and not once have I heard the stuff his acquaintances spew. However, I suspect age is a big factor.

As he should. IMO there is no biracial but I'll respect the wishes of those who wish to identify themselves as biracial or mixed. It's weird that biracial/mixed people will say that they are biracial/mixed or black but they never refer to themselves or no one ever refers to them as white. To this day I have never heard that before.

 

Edit: #blacklivesmatter activist Shaun King was referred to as white by Breitbart. I stand corrected.

I mean one technically could, so is it some kind of "purity" mentality that if you are only "part" of one type of race, you can identify with one but not the other ? I just find this to be interesting. I agree with you that I have never found anyone who is biracial refer to themselves as white, it's just a curious things

No doubt. We are thinking out loud together. I think of my biracial stepson. His identity is closer to black culture than white culture in some aspects and in other aspects his identity is closer to white culture than black culture. What is even more interesting is that some ignorant blacks will resent him and castigate him for "being white" as he went to the "white school" and he dresses preppy sometimes. However when you get to the root of things none of his white friends would ever call him white nor would he call himself white and he is more entrenched in black culture than I have ever been and I'm not biracial. :lol2: He's done a great job of being true to himself and being able to navigate through society as a whole without any major occurrences because of his skin color. #teamlightskin stays winning.
