November 7, 20169 yr Obama over 8 years did one thing that really effects me. Made it incredibly expensive to go to the doctor or hospital. This more then anything. Obama and the Democrats were dead set on getting a health care bill through so they passed the monstrosity that is Obamacare.
November 7, 20169 yr Author Obama has taught me that being POTUS sucks and isn't worth it. He had a good interview with Bill Maher last week. Love seeing him make the rounds right now.
November 7, 20169 yr On a personal level I think Obama is probably a pretty cool guy to be around. In my opinion he made two crucial mistakes that may define his Presidency. One was putting so much trust from day one in Rahm Emmanuel. Even Obama said Emmanuel could not carry on a conversation without his middle finger. His attitude to Congress and basically everyone else was "we won, we are going to do what we want and everyone with a different opinion can go to hell". This is where gird lock was born and any form of compromise went out the window. The second thing was to pass the Affordable Health Care Act. He became desperate to get this through Congress so he could sign it into law as his lasting legacy. So desperate that even he had no idea the ramifications of the law. Unfortunately for him his legacy regarding Obamacare will be "If you like your Doctor, you can keep your Doctor.." and rapidly escalating health care costs. He has done some good things. The US is the largest oil producing nation in the world. The largest producer of natural gas. As a result fuel prices are manageable. There are other things but I don't want this to turn into a forever long post. In my opinion the Democratic Party needs to start ignoring the radical left wing of the party and the Republicans better do the same with the far right wing of that party. If they don't there will come a day when those of us (well over 50%) that live in the moderate middle will pull a Rahm Emmanuel and tell both parties to go to hell.

November 7, 20169 yr He didn't screw it up as his most vehement leftist supporters would have him do.

Good points but I would add that while I agree with you about Rahm Emmanuel, it doesn't help that the Majority Leader of the other party is quoted on the first day of Obama's Presidency as saying, "Our main job is seeing to it that he is a one term president." Think it. But don't say it. It sets up the battle lines right away.

I hope someone like James Comer runs against McConnell or runs for his seat.
November 7, 20169 yr #1 Russia is #2 How is that something Obama has done either way? I whiffed on oil production but US is way ahead in NG production.
November 8, 20169 yr What Obama's 8 years in office have taught me When I think of something, I'll post it.
November 8, 20169 yr That whomever is in the Oval Office has very little, if any, impact on my day to day life.
November 8, 20169 yr That whomever is in the Oval Office has very little, if any, impact on my day to day life. Amen!
November 8, 20169 yr That whomever is in the Oval Office has very little, if any, impact on my day to day life. So much truth to this that so many will never admit.
November 8, 20169 yr That whomever is in the Oval Office has very little, if any, impact on my day to day life. If not for Obamacare I would agree.
