Time for Barker. Please

So, when does the OC get some of the grief? You can't keep the edge rushers out and they're rushing four and not one QB draw that I recall. Want to slow the rush and cause them to commit another in the box? Well, run a draw with a kid who is more than able. Silly if you ask me. Oh, and Towles is what he is. He's not going to get miraculously more accurate. I'd be shocked if Barker would be an upgrade. But what do I know?

I agree on the OC. At WVU, Dawson was none for having a great quick run/pass passing game where the Qb made a quick read and if it wasn't there the play turned into either a Qb draw or RB draw. The play gives hard passing teams fits along with teams that play man to man coverage. I think Towles taking one step drops reading one defender, if it is there throw it, if not follow your RB that is lead blocking on the LB for the draw. You can also just hand it to the RB and let him go one on one with and I side lb that just dropped into pass coverage.

Also, not one time have they ran the actual zone read, run it on the goal line and Towles walks into the end zone, twice!

Also, how about some sprint out game? Towles is a very good Qb on sprint out. It simplifies reads, creates space, if not open let him run.

Towles is fast for a Qb and much more athletic than people realize. Quit trying to make him only a pocket passer. Recognize his strengths and utilize them.

Joker was a better offensive coordinator than both Neal Brown & Shannon Dawson.

You might be right.

Oh my!

I saw enough of Joker and Neal Brown to not be impressed. I need to see a little bit more of Shannon Dawson before I can accurately evaluate.

The staff on the offensive side makes 0 adjustments and I mean 0.

No chip block, no TE's used to help, no quick hits or flares to the RB.....

Towles didn't look good, but Aaron Rogers couldn't work behind that O-line, Vick maybe....

If that first TD isn't dropped in the first quarter this thread doesn't exist.

PT missed some throws, but WR's dropped as many or more than he missed the throw on.

I wonder how many of the people hating on Towles now, were the same ones hating on him in High School because of the team he played for. I guess we could go back through those old threads and see, but I think everyone knows who all it was.

Who hated on PT in high school? What was there to hate on?

I don't remember anyone hating on PT in high school.

I think some people may mistake reached potential with hating. Just because people would like to see if the team

Could improve from being a non bowl team who looked liked they reached their max under the current QB to see if a change could be the spark needed.

Calling people haters is a cop out. Just because people

Want to see what Drew can do

Isn't hating.

Put the gunslinger in............................

Pun intended.

The coaching staff said it was a play calling, protection and drop issue. As much as I think I'm an expert, I'll trust in the guys that get paid to make those decisions.

Besides, I don't think that Drew is as good as Pat. It's that simple. Easy to cheer for the back up but the guy is a back up for a reason.

During the pre game listening to Lorenzen going on a rant about Towles got me thinking. There have been detractors that claim that some of Towles' issues he has had to work on since he got to college are his throwing motion, his release, his footwork, understanding defenses, and reading defenses...anyone want to guess who his Qb coach in high school was.....
