Strong freshman team and a strong group of 8th graders coming in next year.

I will start with the good for Highlands and the bad for St. X.

Highlands kicking game is College D1 level. Kickoffs in the endzone and punts long with great hangtime. Think one was a 60 yarder in first half. Well done.

St.X QB ought to play b-ball if he doesn't because he had to snag about 75% of the shotgun snaps from over his head or wide and over his head in the first half. It cost St. X a TD when they settled for a FG after a first and goal and 3 p the timing. They were much better in the second half but they need to clean that up.

For the rest.....

Highlands offense is not that bad. They just lack playmakers. The concept is good and the execution is not bad but they just can't move the ball against very good teams.

Highlands defense is lacking. St. X did not have short fields but that did not matter. Just moved right down the field running and throwing at will.

I like the St.X offense. A lot of it is timing but when they do it right it is pretty darn good. They throw the ball well out of the run fakes. Very tough to defend.

St. X defense was tough up the middle and could make enough plays on the edge to keep Highlands in check. They do not get beat deep and they got enough pressure to make Highlands keep some extra blockers in the backfield.

Sorry, but HHS has been overmatched by more than those 2 teams. Cooper for starters.

You're not going to turn this into another Cooper thread, are you?

No.

They were not blown out by Cooper and wouldn't be. Against X and SC the game was over before it started.

Heard this one could have been much worse.

Well the running clock certainly helped. But St. X is pretty much and run and pass in bounds team so they do chew up a lot of clock while going 75-80 yards for their TDs.

Has the SK vs Highlands prediction thread started?

Listened to the game on the radio broadcast. Saint X announcers were calling 2nd and 3rd team players in the middle of the second quarter and all of the 4th quarter. Good to see lots of players getting some action for the Tigers and no need to rub it in versus the Birds. Kept hearing about the brick school building, stairs and stands very close to the field. Has there been any injuries attributed to the stadium layout? Never been to the Ft. Thomas field which is why I ask.

They were out manned period. That is what was stated. 20-0 before HHS punt return. Sorry but they were overmatched in that game also.

It could have been.
