I assume Kim Davis has never or will never harm anyone physically but on the issue of equality Kim Davis and ISIS are in lockstep. Both Davis and ISIS believes there are "second class citizens/people" for lack of better terms and both Davis and ISIS hide behind their religious beliefs to justify their behavior.

Singling this post out only because it succinctly states this position. In my time here, I have been critical of her, and of both religions. However, this cartoon is in poor taste. I won't say out of line, because it's free speech, and should be protected, but that doesn't mean we can't say "that's in poor taste."

 

Why do I say that, when I am so critical of Kim Davis, Christianity, and Islam? Well, it's because those two things on each end of the banner are not the same. While Mrs. Davis, and her supporters are in fact discriminating against those gays who wish to be married, and while they share this particular bent with Isis and Islam in general, the differences that exist are such that it makes the comparison unfair.

Mrs. Davis didn't lop off anyone's head when she was brought before the court. She made ignorant, hateful, ridiculous, un-American arguments and displayed a shocking lack of perspective and a breathtaking absence of common decency. But she didn't lop off a head.

We are in lock step. It amazes me how some people on here who claim to be enlightened thinkers can't see this.

People just don't fully understand ISIS and how they murder gays, they skip the protesting part. This women shouldn't be compared to murderers.

While the two faiths have a basic aversion to homosexuality, if you do not see the difference you must agree with Rev. Wright. "America's chickens have come home to roost," and it ok that our enemies killed thousands on 9-11-01.

I will add that it shows the stark difference between the "extremes" of Christianity and Islam... one extreme won't sign a piece of paper and the other extreme beheads and throws homosexuals off buildings, which in my opinion says something about the current state of both religions.

Historically speaking, both of these ancient Middle Eastern faith systems have plenty of violence-related baggage.

It is a political cartoon. It is designed to make people think about a political issue. It does not say the Davis wants to throw gays off a cliff or behead them......read what the sign they are holding says.
