Is this picture out of line?

The Henderson paper printed this political cartoon and some are losing their minds over it. Was it out of line?

I would say it's in poor taste, at the minimum. I don't agree with what Kim Davis has been doing, but in no way would I consider her a terrorist.

It's not IMO.

Have you seen the ISIS videos where they are throwing suspected gay men off buildings?

Ask yourself this, and answer honestly to yourself: Would this happen here if our country's societal controls — i.e., civilization — wasn't in place and the mob ruled?

I haven't and I never will watch any of those videos. It just fuels the fire. The cartoon is probably a little much, but I get what they are saying. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison so I get why some would be angry.

The mobs might have kept gay marriage illegal. Heck, they might have kept the sodomy laws on the books. But no group of people large enough to have any influence, has ever advocated that sodomy should be a capital offense in this country.

The cartoon is in poor taste and while logically sound, Kim Davis and ISIS do not represent the same ideal even remotely.

All that cartoon needs is Perez Hilton running through the banner like he's being introduced at a football game

Didn't our President compare the GOP to the Terrorist State of Iran?

Seems like this paper is just following along the same line of thinking.

I think it is over the top. Many good political cartoons do go over the top and the result is more people thinking and talking about the subject matter. I think the cartoon was effective in that way.

My thinking as well. Sometimes such extreme measures , after the initial shock, cause people to think. That's the job of the editorial cartoon.

It's true. ISIS and Davis worship religions that prohibits gay marriage. One of the two has been more lenient regarding the topic. The fact remains... The two depicted represent the extreme mentalities found within each.

I have zero problems with the cartoon

Agreed. I laughed out loud when I saw it.
