I definitely have heard it referred to as such. I have heard evangelicals say that homosexuality can be cured through prayer and therapy.

I do not think it is.

I belong to a Southern Baptist church and would say we are very conservative in our beliefs. I can honestly say I've never heard it refered to as a disease or heard anyone say God could cure someone of homosexuality. Certainly I believe God can deliver us from ALL sins but curing seems like an odd choice of words.

Cancer, drug ediction, heart issues etc are what I would consider a disease. Homosexuality, pornography, adultery, etc are a different category IMO.

I've heard the same. I thought everyone had.

I have no problem with it. Newspapers are supposed to stir controversy in the editorial section.

Not heard that phrase used and been active in church since 1995. Just out of curiosity who exactly said this? I mean is this a certain denomination using this or is this something you have heard non believers say that "Christians" say?

Google "conversion therapy" or "pray the gay away" or "Marcus Bachmann".

The Christians I know would not refer to it as "cured".

I'm intrigued by these Christians you know.
