Is this picture out of line?

It's true. ISIS and Davis worship religions that prohibits gay marriage. One of the two has been more lenient regarding the topic. The fact remains... The two depicted represent the extreme mentalities found within each.

I have zero problems with the cartoon

Echo's my feelings, on this issue Kim Davis and ISIS are in lockstep.

Just wondering if someone could post a link to where Davis said that Gays should be stoned, beheaded, hung, beaten, raped or killed.

It's not the same and for those trying to make it seem so they may have a personal agenda, either political or religious.

This is a ridiculous statement.

Kim Davis whether you agree with her or not broke the law she swore to uphold. As an elected official in a republic such as ours that's huge imho. ISIS goes to extreme measures to protect their way of life but I can think of not too long ago when Americans that look like Kim Davis and share her religion acted just as extreme to protect their particular way of life.

I've never once said that I agree with her actions, because I don't.

But to lump her conscientious objections to people that actively kill gays is very short sighted.

Please could you tell me when the MASS killings of gays by Christians happened in the past? When did others that "Look" like her actively search out gays to kill them?

This is a ridiculous statement.

I assume Kim Davis has never or will never harm anyone physically but on the issue of equality Kim Davis and ISIS are in lockstep. Both Davis and ISIS believes there are "second class citizens/people" for lack of better terms and both Davis and ISIS hide behind their religious beliefs to justify their behavior.

In poor taste maybe, but even that to me is a stretch. It really hits home the far right conservative christian beliefs and I have nothing against the picture. I do not think it would take much for the right wing Christian groups to arm themselves, and this comes from someone who votes Republican, I stay completely away from all the religious views though as I wholeheartedly disagree with the Republican stance on that.

This is why two sides of an argument can never have a serious discussion. Both sides use extreme comparisons against each other. I would argue your statement makes you no better than Kim Davis herself.

Just one more reason politics and religion should never mix.

This is the attitude that is most disappointing in seemingly educated Americans. Instead of acknowledging the wrong (which you have) and then working to make the world around us better, you seem to want to quid pro quo one religion with another. The cartoon is VERY simply illustrating the similarities in their philosophies. The cartoonist does a great job of allowing the audience to decide whether or not to associate with the philosophy.

And European Christians have been lashing out at anything remotely different from the Spanish Inquisition through the Crusades, Native American genocide, even the Salem Witch Trials. Not to mention more recently with American civil rights, South African Apartheid, etc.

All that cartoon needs is Perez Hilton running through the banner like he's being introduced at a football game

Now that's funny.

Or a rainbow connecting the two together.

The political cartoon makes a point. That's what political cartoons do: They make us think. Far more troublesome is the steady drip-drip-drip in the controversial and political arenas of BGP declaring or questioning whether something is "over the line" or "out of line."

The Henderson paper printed this political cartoon and some are losing their minds over it. Was it out of line?

No problem with it at all. Kim needs the mask on , though. :)

Most of Kim's supporters wouldn't understand the cartoon.
