I hope that the voters do more than just picking up the newspaper and logging on to recruiting sites. The voters need to attend and watch the game tape. Now I know that's asking a lot but the eye test has to be a factor. Overall team record is huge. So I would expect that to be a huge factor when deciding the district players of the year. You take the pool of the players that were named player of the year in their district and start breaking down those players. Look at who they played and played well against. Was it on the road? Fourth quarter comeback? Playing through an injury? And was there a Mr. Football moment in their season.

 

I was by the end zone on the pass break up on the 2 point conversion by Robbins. I saw that last play by Kash to put his team over the top. There are a number of these type of plays and we are only in September. So if you are or you know a voter please don't allow them to be lazy. Demand more, these student athletes deserve better.....

That performance against SK is hard to ignore

Dillon Powell 93 carries 750 yards 8 tds and 1 receiving td. 4-0 record.

Keion Wakefield is a great receiver, but he missed Male's first three games of the season with a high ankle sprain. In his first game back against Trinity he had 2 catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.

 

Based solely on production, he'd be No. 3 among Male WRs on a list of Mr. Football candidates, behind Zackery Smith (11 catches, 340 yards, 4 TDs) and Marcus Clark (16 catches, 202 yards, 2 TDs).

 

The most talented player in Louisville, hands down, is Trinity's Rodjay Burns. Kid does a little bit of everything on offense, defense and special teams, but his numbers won't scream Mr. Football.

Nacarius Fant is getting time on the field. Not putting up big numbers or anything like that but he is getting time on the field.

Robbins of Boyle County threw for over 200 yards and 6 TD's in the first half against Collins this past Friday. He has put up some impressive numbers. Through 5 games he has 18 TD's passing and 2 TD's on the ground. He's also been doing it on defense. He's also been doing it against ranked teams in their respective classes.

Also wanted to note out of the 20 Quarters possible, Robbins has played in maybe 14 or 15.

Robbins should be the front runner. What's so impressive is that his numbers looks great and he hasn't even played played close to the quarters of most players on this list.
