Ryle 48 Highlands 24

Featured Replies

Probably all for another thread. CCH's OL was pretty solid but their QB needs experience and none of CCH's skilled players stood out. And don't start me on CCH's defense, it was poor at best.

Disagree on the CCH skill players. #4 McGinness is a pretty nice player. He definitely stood out against Ryle.

Enjoy your 2 years. There are better teams right now than Highlands right now. If Cooper, Ryle, SK are now top notch programs then go play a GCL team every year. Call a big Ohio school. Continue to play Highlands for years to come. At the end of 10 years, you'll have 1 or 2 wins over Highlands if you're lucky. Your coaches and players know it too. I root for all N. Ky teams. I watch all 6 state final games every year.

Cooper 2012 made a nice run thru 4 mediocre teams and got beat in the finals by a couple scores. They were a nice team that Highlands would have beat by 4 scores. Go back and look at the rosters. Highlands was loaded with guys who went on and played college football.

I am convinced you are one of those people that will always make an excuse no matter what.

You thump your chest every year about the great Bluebirds and have the same battle

Cry about how NKY teams are afraid to schedule them. It's easy to say and continue to scream it every year as long as no one does have HHS on their schedule. But look out! The second teams do schedule HHS you can't pound your chest anymore because now you are worried. You want to believe the garbage you've been saying for since 2011 ( the last season you all didn't lose to a NKY team). Then all of a sudden low and behold, not 1 NKY team puts HHS on their out of district schedule but no less than 3 NKY teams do and what do you do? You hold your breath hoping all the stuff you've been spouting off the last 4 years holds true becaise now it's not just words but your team actually has to walk the walk that you've been talking for so long. Then what happens? Cooper shows up and destroys Highlands. It was over after their first offensive play.

Then Ryle comes along and yea they also beat the mighty Bluebirds and instead of being gracious like most Bluebird fans, you have to start talking garbage about how this year is a fluke and no other HHS team would lose to anyone here. You sound like a spoiled brat who finally had his toy taken from him after crying for years.

Keep telling yourself that Cooper went to state by means of a weak playoff system and ignore the fact of what they actually did that year while we all know the weakest class for awhile

Has been 4A. So continue to thumb your nose at local teams who have done what you preached couldn't be done. You can't hide from the facts.

Great discussion, but I have to go to a FTJFL game and see what the future holds.

Everyone might be a 6 score favorite right now. That doesn't make your team good.

Of course not. Because Cooper can't be good. That would ruin your entire theory.

Just don't disappear from the schedule in the future and we'll see. Enjoy your victory this year. I am rooting for your team and hope you bring home a title some day.

Doesn't matter to me if they ever play again after next season. They proved you wrong and will always have that over you. I'm happy with that. You hope they stop playing HHS that way you can go back to your myth of thinking HHS is the best team ever.

Some people on here need to grow-up in a hurry and that goes for both sides. Never seen so much bravado out of parents. Game is over, Ryle won and time to move on to the next opponent.

Come on you could get 11 of us old out of shape guys and be 4-0 with the schedule BB has played.

Well this old, out of shape guy will NOT be taking the field.

Focused here fella. I guess any other wins Ryle has will be because that team is down. Ship is sailing fella.

Sorry if fella offended you player as you're clearly on the team. So, Player I think any win Ryle gets from here on out is because you're well prepared and outplayed your opposition.

However sailing your ship on merits earned after 4 games is a sophomoric mistake. Work hard, play harder and Ryle will make some noise.

What offers is Jared Daugherty getting? His 45 yd field goal would have been good from at least 60. Kickoffs 5-10 yards deep in the endzone, his leg is UNBELIEVABLE.

Ryle is the team that has never disappeared from the HHS schedule. Bryson Warner scheduled them twice in a season before when he was out gunned.

A lot of people are worried about Highlands offense, I think the worry should be on the defensive side of the ball. Going back to Dale's last game against Collins.

So you're saying Beechwood is gonna beat Highlands? If that's the case will they even make the playoffs? At least Ryle will be there. Come to union, they'll sell you a ticket.

Put the bottle down. It's way too early to be talking like this and not even realize you are.

There's not one team in N. Ky this year that could've given the Highlands teams of the past 8 years a game for even a 1 quarter. It would have been blow out city. The coaches knew there was a 2 year opportunity to compete with Highlands and they came calling to take their shot. Opposing coaches knew it and Highlands knew it. Will they stay on the schedule in the future? I don't believe they will. I'm hearing the sophomore class on down is loaded again. I think all the N Kentucky coaches will drop the series again instead of taking their 60-80 point beatings and getting exposed as they were in the past.

Congratulations! Enjoy you 1 win every 25-30 years or so over a Highlands team that's struggling right now.

Classic.

Someone struck a nerve . Idk about lasts nights game but Ryle has a pretty good team.

Congrats to Ryle on the win and on a great start to the season. As for Highlands, hang in there and stay focused on making improvements as the season progresses. One of the great things about KY high school football is that the non-district games ultimately have little to no bearing on the postseason. My hope is that the team will get some things worked out and head into the postseason with a 3-0 district record and a number-1 seed.

One last comment: I haven't read these threads closely enough to know whether it's HHS fans or fans of other NKY teams who are stirring the pot, but my advice to ALL Highlands fans on this site is to support the Birds, congratulate their opponents when they beat HHS, and don't take the bait and respond to any comments posted on this site talking about Highlands being a bad team, being over hyped, having no/little talent or being eclipsed by supposedly better football programs in NKY. Highlands is the second winningest program in the nation, has numerous state titles and a tradition of greatness spanning 100 years. It is beneath the dignity of the program to resort to squabbling during times when the team is working to find its groove.
