August 26, 201511 yr Yep. There are no better fast food fries than McDonald's. Wendy's old fries were better than their current ones, IMO. I agree with both statements. Not a fan of Wendy's new fries. However, there is a finite shelf live with McDonalds fries where they go from amazing to awful.

The proceeds were to benefit the nonprofit Peace One Day, which honors the International Day of Peace, a United Nations initiative that takes place September 21. But McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook was quick to quash the proposed mashup between the burger behemoths. "We love the intention but think our two brands could do something bigger to make a difference," Easterbrook wrote on Facebook. The King had made his “peace proposal” in full-page ads in Wednesday's New York Times and Chicago Tribune, suggesting a one-day pop-up restaurant in Atlanta, a middle point between McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago and Burger King’s in Miami. Burger King created a website, mcwhopper.com, with a proposed recipe for the collaborative burger. A rep said in a release their hope was to "make history and generate a lot of noise around Peace Day." Not only did he not bite at the burger plan, Easterbrook didn’t seem to warm to his rival’s playful war and cease-fire imagery. "Every day, let's acknowledge that between us there is simply a friendly business competition and certainly not the unequaled circumstances of the real pain and suffering of war," he wrote. His final zinger: "A simple phone call will do next time." Some social media users thought Easterbrook's comments were sadder than an un-Happy Meal. "This is probably the worst response @McDonalds could have went with," wrote Twitter user @Tat11. “Give peace a chance!” entreated user @cdraff.

August 27, 201511 yr ^ Yeah, White Castle struggles being efficient in their drive thru. Reminds me....Pulled up at a White Castle drive-thru in Erlanger one afternoon. The woman on the other end of the intercom said, "it'll be at least at least a 15 minute wait on burgers. We ain't gotta enough people working today." To which I replied, "is this a joke?" "No sir, we had a bunch of no shows," she said. Thank goodness nobody was behind me and I was able to back out of that drive-thru.
August 27, 201511 yr Author I didn't see this was going to be at one location for just that day. If that's so they should go ahead and do it in Atlanta and when they get done they can all go to the Varsity for Burgers and Onion Rings afterwards
August 27, 201511 yr Drive through efficiency/ accuracy 1 McD's 2 Wendy's 3 BK...always some small issue The worst, slowest Wendy's drive thru is faster than the best McDonald's drive thru. I don't ever recall a mistake on my order at Wendy's.
August 27, 201511 yr Somewhat off topic but BK's new nuggets are pretty good. I had them a while back and it was like $1.99 for 10. Kinda scary, but tasty.

August 27, 201511 yr Just caught a headline on morning news that McDonald's has rejected Burger King's proposal. At least it created a lot of buzz for BK for free. That was the whole point, right?
August 27, 201511 yr The worst, slowest Wendy's drive thru is faster than the best McDonald's drive thru. I don't ever recall a mistake on my order at Wendy's. All about location. Exact opposite here in Danville. Wendy's is our slowest. McD's, BK and Taco Bell are all top notch.
