Burger King to McDonald's: Let's make a McWhopper

 

NEW YORK — This probably isn't what the United Nations had in mind when it established the International Day of Peace: Burger King is asking McDonald's to join forces to create a "McWhopper."

 

In full-page newspaper ads Wednesday, Burger King said it's calling for a truce with McDonald's so that they can create a mashup of their most famous burgers — the Big Mac and the Whopper. Burger King says it wants to serve the concoction for a single day at a popup location in Atlanta, a midway point between the headquarters of the two chains.

 

I'd be in line to try that out!

Honestly the Whopper is so far and away better than anything McDonald's serves, I have no idea how McDonald's is the gold standard for the fast food burger industry.

They have done a much better job of "branding" themselves over the years, and I believe also set several "firsts" such as offering a breakfast sandwich.

Wendy's old fries were better than their current ones, IMO.

I like them both, unfortunately. I try not to eat as much of the two. You can usually count on consistent taste at just about any McDs but I also love the charcoal taste of the Whopper and the fact that it is not fried. I was an old Burger Chef fan back in the day.

 

Thinking about a Big Mac the size of a Whopper does get the taste buds going but I'm sure more of the "special sauce" and extra bread is not good for you.

I think Raising Cane's fries are pretty darn good.

If your taking road trip & have to make a rest room stop, choices being McDs or BK, where you headed.

Agree and their coffee is better. One exception to the above is the McD's in Stanton, KY. My wife and I stopped in there late one Saturday and it was filthy, neglected and poorly managed in every way. And the food sucked.

I have found around here (NKY) McD's usually has more cars so modesty could be a problem.

I was thinking using the privacy fenced in area around the dumpsters. I still think it would be cleaner since I wouldn't actually have to touch anything lol. Really sucks when you clean your hands well after using a not so clean public restroom, then grab the door handle and feel like you need to go wash your hand again.

I've never been to a burger king that I thought was clean. Plus burger king is very expensive compared to mcdonald's. However I love the BK breakfast croissant

As far as the mcwhopoer. I'm not sure what the big Mac could contribute to make a whopper better. Mac sauce I guess, but that would be it for me, the whopper is much better IMO, even with its ketchup and mayo sauce.

I certainly agree with you on the Whopper, it is the best fast food sandwich ever by far.

 

However, I agree with some of the others that Burger King can dirty and sometimes the rest of their menu can be hit or miss.

 

Although I do agree with the marketing no way I let McDonalds mess up the Whopper!!!
