That is posted and they can take as long as they wish. They can interview but must advertise/post for 10 days. If the time is withing a certain time frame of the first day of school, I am thinking it is 30 days, than they can apply to the state for a waiver. For example, date is August 6 and school starts August 10th, they get a waiver from the state and can hire the next day.

 

They cannot technically/legally offer the job until the 10 days are up. But here is how the conversation goes.....

 

I have to post this job till (pick a date) at that time, I will be calling you to offer you the job at that time. Yes, you have the job but I cannot officially offer it till (same date as above.)

So all in all does there seem to be one candidate that is being pursued more than any others. Obviously it seems like there is no front runner. Also do you think the former player might have more pull, being a "Tiger", etc.

If anything he has college basketball playing experience....that should count for something.

When it comes to being a head coach it counts for absolutely nothing. One of the best coaches in the northern part of Kentucky didn't play past freshmen ball in high school (I'm sure there are others with similar pasts) and conversely there are those who did play far beyond that and are not among the best.

What I meant was if it is a new guy and first year coach, then his playing experience should count just as much as another guy's previous coaching experience.

All all-pro, all-american, all-everything does not mean that he can relate to players, especially teenage boys who think they know everything. Conversely, A coach with little experience who studies, watches others and learns can very well be an excellent head coach. Ideally, the person would somewhere in the middle.

 

BTW, Nic Wilson was only mentioned as a possible candiate, I haven't seen him at the Loyal celebrating yet.

I haven't heard anything, so I am curious....has Coach Wolfzorn signed on to coach at another school yet?

Let him celebrate if he would get the job. He is a good guy that will really help out the school, team, and the students he teaches. Also I know that he would be the guy that would stay 25 years in the school and do what he can to make it a better place.

Talking to a close friend of Swaugs....I heard Swaugs wants a Bellevue Boy to get the job. That he is not too happy with the coaching carousel going on with the sports programs at Bellevue.

I am going to say one thing about this situation...

It was handled poorly, but I worked with Coach Wolfzorn for several seasons and he knows what he is doing. Bellevue is letting the wrong people make the decisions in their athletic program and it will go downhill quickly. Coach Wolfzorn was not treated fairly and if any school out there is needing a good head coach then he is your man... BEST of LUCK Coach Wolfzorn.

I would think that any true Black and Gold Tiger fan would not be happy with the coaching carousel.

That's the problem, without a lot of playing experience, you need coaching experience. Without much coaching experience at the high school level, you need a lot of playing experience. Having little of either is getting in over your head for the first couple of years, until the knowledge of the game starts to really take hold.
