It's dumb that this happened. I really am kinda curious as to how it happened though.

We agree to disagree.

And that's fine. Neither one of us will be sent to the Gulag for our opinion.

But one of you will continue to be taken seriously in conversations, and the other wont.

Yup. I always thought that Floyd the barber was a sleazeball.

I think Floyd may have had a real dark side... he was creepy...:D

Any of you guys ever see the SNL episode from the early '80s where "Opie Cunningham" returned to Mayberry as an adult? Floyd's barber shop had expanded to include an adult bookstore complete with sex toys and blow-up dolls on the walls. I think this proves you guys' theory.

I'm giving UKMustang a mulligan on this one. He is either saying this in jest or was just blowing off steam after seeing some characters acting in very poor taste. No way you boycott an entire area because of 5-10 idiots. You literally could not visit any city in the US...even a city the size of Mayberry...

Don't drag us here in Mayberry into all the political nonsense.

And that's fine because I really don't care since it's referred toward me.

Just remember that everyone is entitled to opinions and if I dot have respect for Obama then that's my opinion, whether you like it or not. I don't have to respect him just because you do

But he can't be a racist.

Yes, Uncle Ruckus can too be racist.

Yes, Uncle Ruckus (no relation) can too be racist.

Fixed that for you.

Regardless of what their intentions are, it looks bad.

That's their right to look racist and trashy. It's also our right to recognize them as racist and trashy.

Of course it's not all of those from Oklahoma. But it's one of those sad, or embarrassing events where you sigh and say "I'm glad this wasn't in Kentucky".

Exactamundo lol

As a citizen Oklahoma folks should ask how this happened. At the same time everyone else needs to remember they're probably not happy about it either.

But you did make the title of the thread "Oklamoma uses confederate flag to greet president Obama" and then it was followed by UKMustangFan's post of "You can add Oklahoma to the list of places I'm going to avoid at all costs" which got likes from mcpapa and Fear the Nation. So obviously, some are blaming an entire state for the actions of a few people. I find that to be as bad and disrespectful as the people that disrespected the president.

First off, where in the title do you see Oklahoma? ;) Thanks to either spell check or typing on my iPhone, it does not say Oklahoma ;)

Where did this happen? Oklahoma! Did the state actually greet him this way? The STATE? No! Did people IN the state greet him this way? Yes! The state did nothing, just as when messed up people in Ky do things that is an embarrassed we say "why do they have to be from Kentucky?" Or, again, when we hear of stuff like this we say "please don't be from Kentucky".

The fact remains, that IN Oklahoma, racists greeted the president with a racists flag. Kind of odd that someone thinks that what you mentioned could be as bad a racists.

I'm thankful this wasn't in Kentucky.
