July 7, 201511 yr I would argue that once a kid is classified as an adult, it is fair game. The press doesn't jeopardize their careers...their poor decision making jeopardizes their careers. Everything is case by case here at BGP but when you are 18 you are fair game. Also you have to look at it from my point of view, if I/we don't report on something then we are quickly accused of playing favorites, censoring information, and given analogies to you posted this and this is way worse than that, and my opinion is this and your opinion is that and blah blah blah you have an agenda, blah blah blah. It is really no win and I don't believe censorship is the answer. And I am completely cool with agreeing to disagree. I'm so proud of you guys right now …
July 7, 201511 yr I get the joke, should he have posted it....probably not, but good lord people grow some thicker skin. :ohbrother: I guess the next time someone refers to my alma mater has "homo hill", I should alert the "sensitivity police".

July 7, 201511 yr I have never seen a qb make so many headlines without touching the field yet for UK.
July 7, 201511 yr And why was anyone offended? Because it's a comparison of a civil soccer match victory to one of the deadliest attacks ever committed on American soil? It may not be current events, but it ain't really "cool" either.
July 7, 201511 yr I don't think this is something huge that Drew should have any repercussions for...but I certainly think the apology was called for. Frankly, I think the bad press is repercussion enough. It makes Drew look dumb for publicly making a dumb statement like that. Should Stoops step in? I don't really think so, except maybe to tell him to get his head out of his rear end, and *maybe* to give him a few extra windsprints. Still, this shows poor taste and lack of good judgment on Drew's part (yet again). Not exactly a desirable quality in a D1 quarterback, which...just maybe, could be a contributing factor and have a little something to do with Drew's notable time on the pine.

On a Saturday:eek:
July 7, 201511 yr I have never seen a qb make so many headlines without touching the field yet for UK. You forget about Pike?
July 7, 201511 yr Call me insensitive but I don't even think that's that big of a deal. I say it all the time on here... People are entirely too soft. Dumb tweet for someone who has immaturity issues and is under the spotlight? Sure.

It may not be current events, but it ain't really "cool" either. Agree. Sure it's a joke. But all these people out there tweeting and retweeting words without even pausing to think about what they are really saying....just so they can be the first to get the retweets and the followers and the likes.....JUST STOP. THINK. Don't get caught allowing social media to define you. Don't let the tail wag the dog.
