Did Drew Barker really do this?

Featured Replies

I don't think this is something huge that Drew should have any repercussions for...but I certainly think the apology was called for. Frankly, I think the bad press is repercussion enough. It makes Drew look dumb for publicly making a dumb statement like that. Should Stoops step in? I don't really think so, except maybe to tell him to get his head out of his rear end, and *maybe* to give him a few extra windsprints.

Still, this shows poor taste and lack of good judgment on Drew's part (yet again). Not exactly a desirable quality in a D1 quarterback, which...just maybe, could be a contributing factor and have a little something to do with Drew's notable time on the pine.

Definitely an immature move on Drew's part! It's not so much the tweet that bothers me because we all know what nonsense it is. The part that gets me and has made me shake my head about this kid is his lack of honor and responsibility in his representation of a D-1 program that believes in him. At the end of the day it's not about him, it's about the integrity he represents in his school and football program, period!!!!! When you are comfortable with the school and program being larger than yourself, you don't make these immature moves! Again, I hope this kid learns and grows up and moves on from this type of spotlight!

I'm just glad there wasn't a record of every moronic thing I let fly out of my unfiltered piehole when I was 20.

Difference is, you let it fly out of your piehole. Barker posted on social media. You said something dumb in front of your 5 buddies at the time. Barker has 22,900 Twitter followers.

And why was anyone offended?

It's 2015 and were surrounded by liberals.

It's 2015 and you can't blurt out stupid comments on Twitter, especially if you're an athlete.

Fixed that for you.

You forget about Pike?

Wow! That's good company there. You know you have arrived when you and Pike are mentioned in the same sentence. Please stop Mr Barker! Hey Dad, can you help a fella out down there in Lex?

Maybe it was Drew's early Sunday morning visit to Dixie Chili in Newport that caused bad Judgement. Maybe a bad hotdog?:lol2: Lets be honest, if this was Drew's 1st go around with being in the news then I would say we wouldn't of even heard of it but since he continues to impress us with his stellar decisions, It's going to be shared as non important news.. At least it's becoming non important to most of us.

I'm impressed he was smart enough to surround himself with 2 smoking hot sisters from Ft Thomas while eating at Dixie..... That's the right move if his football career doesn't pan out!:D

Spot on.....IMO!

Drew Barker isn't the only kid that thinks that but since he's the topic here!

Pike was good enough to play TE.

And dismissed from the team UK should do the same thing. Maybe next year the UK back up qb will be playing for Mount ST. Joseph.

Not even remotely similar. One was a tweet that people are overreacting to, the other punched a girl in the face. Of course, you said he was in the right to punch her in the other thread so not sure why anyone would take anything you post seriously.

Don't be a hater just because Shearer and Racke are playing at Mt St Joe....

No i said it made sense why he punched her. I was thinking he did it for no reason. I never it was the right thing to do. All i said was she hot what she deserved. Now he has to find a new team. Maybe he comes to UK? Apparently they give second and third chances.
