Did Drew Barker really do this?

Featured Replies

First, it was the airsoft gun incident. Then getting decked on EKU’s campus after the bar fight. Now, a tweet that references Pearl Harbor. Drew is taking “Stoops Troops” to the extreme on this one. The tweet was deleted, of course. But these things live on forever these days on the world wide web. Good move, Drew.

If true, an ambassadorship to a foreign country is not in the cards for young Mr. Barker, it appears.

Someone (Stoops?) needs to explain to this kid that no one cares what he thinks about anything other than the opposition each Saturday.

Twitter is ruining the world.

Twitter is ruining the world.

Agree. That was a really dumb thing for Drew to have said. Definitely not okay...and it shows that he's apparently got a ways to come in the "Grow up, would you?" department.

That being said...I'm REALLY glad we didn't have social media around when I was a teenager.

Social media and media in general are ruining the world...

I would argue social media makes the world much more transparent.

These kids just seem to have an overinflated view of their relevance.

And I agree....glad no social media or cell phones when I was young and stupid.

Exactly. It isn't ruining the world, people just aren't mature enough to handle it.

I am not sure what is sadder

That Barker continues to show his immaturity

or that a grown man had to turn a tweet from twitter into a story just to get hits to his website and stoke a rivalry

IMHO, two people who still need to grow up.

Drew made the statement public when he tweeted it. Part of being a recognizable athlete.

Absolutely..doesnt change the fact that a guy is making his journalistic credibility come from posting the tweets of 18-21 year old kids.

Once again..two immature people

I can't imagine having a website and trying to come up with ways to not get hits.

I would argue if the site's content revolves around the shock value of things that immature kids say on social media you probably shouldn't be in the website business in first place.

I think it's perfectly acceptable for a UL site to call out the UK QB for saying something incredibly insensitive and stupid on social media. I have no problem with it.
