Big East Zebra
For the 2nd year in a row, the most dominant team in the 3rd Region and one of the most dominant girls softball program in the state of Kentucky doesn't make it out of the district. Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces was defeated by 9th District and 3rd Region defending Champion Apollo Lady E-Gals 6-0.
Cardinal101
Not sure if they were the most dominate in the 3rd region. Didn't Apollo win 2 out of 3 this year?
GloryDays
Maybe historically, this year was tight between them, Daviess County, Meade County, and Apollo.
AllenR
Doesn't sound like they are too dominant if they can't get out of the district?
Yellow Card
Based on the info you provided, it sounds like Apollo is the most "dominant" team in the 3rd.
greenandpurple
I'm confused??? How can you be the Most Dominant and not get out of the District???
Yellow Card
I realize that records are not always a telling stat but 23-12 on the year, and 5-3 in the Region, with 2 of these wins coming against Owensboro (0-22) just does not scream dominant to me. Can you provide insight on why you consider them the dominant team of Region 3?

Yellow Card
Historically, maybe they were, sure not how I read the first thread in this post... Voice of Reason
Seems to me like someone is just jumping at a chance to hate on Owensboro Catholic.
Cardinal101
Not the case, to me it seems like someone is trying to take something away from Apollo, as if they did not deserve to win. Instead, I say well deserved and good luck in regionals. And believe me I live no where near Owensboro catholic.
Pat1564
The one thing that we have a tendency to forget, one game does not define a season. Apollo is a very good team that beat Ochs. Ochs had a great season replacing 6 senior starters. They beat some great teams and lost to some not so great teams. They could have made some noise in state if they could have gotten there but they didn't again. I think the post was meant to give credit to Ochs tradition of always winning the 3rd region.(13 straight years). 9th district is probably one of the toughest in the state. Daviess is very good and if they don't have a bad day will make some noise in the state. Apollo could very well be the surprise that they were last year. Meade is do to win a regional and are very good. Don't take anything away from any team that slips and falls and certainly don't take anything away from those who step up and get it done. By the way, I am a proud Ace's parent and my daughter is a senior on this years team. It was heart wrenching for her, especially cause she didn't perform to her capabilities. Like a wise guy told her, you can't let that game define your season or your career. I'm proud of her and her team for who they are and what they accomplished. Clyde
Let's also remember that WKY is THE power of the state when it comes to fastpitch softball. Easier to see a strong team not make the region there than other parts of the state.
