It's on here; it's on the news; it's on Facebook; it's on Twitter; it's on reddit. Highlands needs to REALLY look into some damage control. Plus, ya know, there's that whole "being responsible to help a bullied student" thing that would be pretty cool on the administrators' part.

Don't name the names, don't even have to give the dirty details... But this is going viral, so they should say... "This is our policy and here is how we handled it"... Furthermore, they should state that any HHS student that further adds "bullying" or "harassment" to this situation will be dealt with immediately according to their guidelines... And if it doesn't include social media bullying they should say that it does include it now...

HHS has to get out infront of this thing... Although it's possibly already too late.

That kid was not available so they ended up playing a "prank" on the victim even though he peed in the bottle to begin with. And the victim was also suspended. Would that change anything?

The things being said by current and former HHS students and student-athletes is so concerning. Even kids from other schools have chimed in a bit. If I were their parents I'd be livid. They look like entitled, spoiled, and disrespectful know it all brats. If you don't hammer in the seriousness of this or use it as an example for your child, then you're part of the problem. I'm so tired of adults that make excuses for their entitled teenagers and young adults poor behavior. Make them realize consequences!

It probably would but the people who do know are choosing to stay silent, including the administrators. This leads to wild speculation and a lot of hurt feelings.

So the admin at Highlands should make sure that all of you here on BGP are fully brought up to speed on ALL facts so that you can pass your judgment? Simply hysterical people.

 

I will say it again, the administration at Highlands is not worried about pleasing those that read BluegrassPreps or any other website for that matter. Never have and never will. There will be no lawsuit, charges or whatever other crazy thing that some on here want to come up with.

If true it could be worse for those punished. This was a group of seniors having an underclassmen do their dirty work against another underclassmen, correct? In other words, it could be classified as more bullying - seniors making underclassmen pee in a bottle to "incriminate" them too when all along the joke was going to be on the victim.

Whoa. Quit with your facts 'n stuff. We're having a big time here making judgments and accusing people of crimes unburdened by those fact things. If you want to join in there are a few things to keep in mind:

 

1. Highlands kinda deserves this because they win a lot and it's a really good school.

2. Though the administrators in Ft Thomas run one of the best schools in the state, they don't have the smarts or sense to handle a disciplinary problem appropriately.

3. Even though the coach reacted immediately by sending those involved home from a trip they have anticipated for months and appears to have stemmed the tide of embarrassment for the victim by putting a stop to pictures and videos being posted to social media, he must have engaged in some criminal misconduct.

Sad thing is that you have to now take into consideration that if you apologize , especially in something like this, are you admitting guilt and giving ammo for a lawsuit? Sad but has to be considered.

 

 

I see your point, but I would hope not. I have been a nurse for a long time and have seen many a potential law suit. Obviously the big mistakes cost money, but the marginal ones are often avoided by old fashioned apologies. Just admitting you are human and wrong SHOULD make most people respect you enough. But you never know.

Who handles PR for the School District? Are they on vacation this week?
