Calling the Highlands baseball team "Dirty Birds" is a GROSS understatement

Featured Replies

Allegedly, several members of the Highlands baseball team urinated in a bottle, at least one team member squirted the urine on another team member, a fight ensued and the Highlands baseball team will never be the same.

I don't know all the details but from what I do know I don't see any way any involved party should be allowed to play another game for the Highlands baseball team this year. Additionally, I would assume the instigators would be expelled from school, and maybe there should even be criminal charges.

I am told the Highlands school district has a strict anti-bullying policy. I guess we will see how serious Highlands is about bullying.

And for all the Highlands players involved that are reading this, you guys are disgusting.

Is this a bullying issue, or just people doing something stupid?

It is either bullying or criminal. Or both...

Could be viewed as both. I am sure the perps will say it was a bad joke gone wrong but the victim will liken it to bullying. It is up to the administration to now review all of the details and administer the punishment. I am very interested to hear how they handle it and what they rank of importance.

I just think the bullying term is used very loosely anymore. IMO bullying implies more than one incident against a person.

I respectfully disagree....IMO one time is too many. If there is nothing I hate more than anything and have seen it do a ton of damage to kids is Bullying. The problem is the kids doing the bullying many times do not see it as bullying and they think it just a practical joke. The ones that know they are bullying are the ones I would like to slap upside the head.

If you ever want to gain pleasure by watching videos go Youtube Bullys getting blown up.

Where is the line between the two here? What defines bullying, and what defines a practical joke?

If you can laugh it off with everyone afterwards, it's a practical joke. If you don't find it funny and, in fact, are hurt by the actions, it was probably bullying.

I would say when you squirt urine on someone that is pretty disgusting and demoralizing. Not a joke.

Those involved should be done with their high school baseball careers.

Yikes. One of the few moments in life where it's justified to take a swing or two at someone.

Those involved should be done with their high school baseball careers.

Im sure there has to be some kids who do other sports as well on the baseball team, should they be done with just baseball or other sports as well (if not seniors obviously)?

Expelled or suspended?

Tell me the details about the fight.

They should be done with everything other than furthering their high school education.

Understood, so you allow them back into school though?
