ND was much more aggressive on the offensive glass than normal considering they were not a great offensive rebounding team. Wisky is not that good of an offensive rebounding team either. They are more inclined to fall back and not get beat in transition.

 

Defense is one thing, but UK is going to have to be more in attack mode than they were against ND. Penetration will open up the offensive glass for UK. On offense, UK is going to have to force the issue and make Wisky defend. Both Oregon and UNC did a pretty good job of pressuring Wisky in the halfcourt with drives and such.

You are more inclined to hurt Wisky on defense by spreading them out and attacking.

 

Not sure how it will play with Wisky, but I thought ND got a bunch of rebounds on UK because those were areas that UK typically isn't rebounding in. The longer the distance on the shot, the more probability that the rebound is going to come further from the basket. UK was spaced and guys who normally don't have to block out like that are in a position that few teams can put them in. I like Grant and Jackson of ND being good to use their quickness and chase down a few of those boards that Wisconsin might not get. Those that they don't get, they probably belong to UK.

Not gonna lie, if you didn't know anything about either team heading into this week, and all you did was listen to the media, you'd think Wisconsin was the team chasing history and that Kentucky had virtually no chance.

I looked at Wisconsins defense efficiency, and they are 60th in the country. UK won't have their way with them, but it's a terrible matchup.

The cats shot 53% for the game. It just took them some time to realize how bad Notre Dames defense really was.

As a UK "hater" UK will demolish Wisconsin. I'm picking UK by 16 and no this isn't a joke prediction. I really don't expect that much out of Wisconsin.

 

Duke will win their game over MSU by more points than UK beats Wisconsin.

Cal is a pretty solid man coach. That's what you'll play in the pros and there's no hiding you.

 

I honestly don't think Cal gets the credit he deserves for how well he coaches defense. Lots of statistics through his tenures will probably support that.

 

I agree to an extent and I think that may be because "Coach Cal isn't an X's and O's guy" which most people associate more so with offense and just kind of forget about defense.
