I hope ND doesn't double UK in the post like they did Duke. Could be Towns true national coming out party.

Along with Kentucky, Notre Dame is imo the best team in the country "right now". They won the ACC tournament, beating UNC and Duke back to back, have also beaten both of those twice this season..I believe that I heard one of the commentators say that N.D. had the best offensive efficiency rating in the country and they avg. 78 pts. per game. Plus, being an above excellent coached team I think that U.K. will have their hands full. The Irish are cruising thru this region, playing their best ball of the season as U.K is playing great

I think that the Cats will win but I don't think that this one is a blowout / double digit win.

U.K. 74

N..D. 70

They are near the top in offensive efficiency...Points per 100 possessions

Notre Dame is # 3 (121.9) in OE while Kentucky is # 6 (119.2)

Notre Dame is # 100 (99.1) in Def Efficiency while Kentucky is # 1 (84.7)

Cats by 20. These kids are focused and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Watching some talking heads on CBS (Mateen Cleaves was the only one I recognized) and their plan to beat Kentucky was...

Don't press...get back and play D

Don't play man to man, zone them Kentucky has no zone offense and are poor shooters

Don't try to play a low scoring game in the 50's you got to try to outscore them

No wonder none of these guys are coaching :lol2:

Where was Jay Wright who said that UK was turnover prone.

Game 1 (ND won 77-73): 22 pts, 17 rebs

Game 2 (Duke won 90-60): 20 pts 10 rebs

Game 3 (ND won 74-64): 28 pts 8 rebs

So in total 70 points, 35 rebounds or 23.7 ppg, 11.7 rpg

ND game plan was to let Okafor get his points but limit everyone else. That won't work against UK. The only way I see UK having any chance to lose is if they are up 10-15 points throughout the whole game and then with about 4 minutes left ND hits 3 or 4 three balls and gets it to a one or two possession game with a couple of minutes left. Then anything can happen.......a bad call ......missed foul shots......etc.

But I see a very slim chance of that happening. UK should not even think about an outside shot in the first 10 minutes of this game. Pound it inside and get ND in foul trouble. They are very good with all 5 starters on the floor.......not so good when they have to go into the bench.

Notre Dame's defense is why I expected them to be gone by now. However, they have played much better defense in the tournament than what they played all year.

Hear some announcers talk about this very same thing.

Cats simply won't be able to defend the 3. It's going to be a long, sad night for all us UK fans.:no::banghead::banghead::(:(:(:depressed::depressed::speechless::speechless::poop::down::down::arghh::arghh::grumpy::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

This game could be anywhere from a UK 17 point win, to a ND 3 point upset. It all depends on if the Irish can just out shoot Kentucky and win. They would need to shoot over 50 percent from beyond the arc to have a chance. ND has beated Duke 2 times this year and that is not easy to do. If Notre Dame struggles to get off shots with Kentucky's solid defense, or just flat aren't hitting, UK has way too much talent and size inside and out for the Irish to keep it close.

Uh oh ... the worry meter is high for LRCW on this one. He is pulling out all the stops.

Here is the challenge for UK. They have to change their defensive philosophy a little from what they have done all year for this one. Against Notre Dame I think you have to close out deeper and harder on the 3 and take the risk of them driving past you. You cannot give them open looks at the 3. I will sacrifice some dribble penetration to keep them from taking an open 3. I think UK has the size inside to recover and block shots even with ND being a good passing team.

On the ND offensive side, it will be interesting to see how they handle UK's switching defense. From the few games I have seen, it looks to me like ND likes to run a lot of picks and the high post pick and roll. UK will switch on picks because they have the size to avoid mismatches. That can negate the pick and roll. How will ND handle that?

I see UK attacking the rim, using their size and depth to get ND in foul trouble. The refs can have a big impact on this game. If they call it tight, that could be trouble for ND. UK can't settle for the 3. They have to attack the rim on offense.

I hope Ashley didn't keep Malone up all night practicing "yoga." We're gonna need him to be ready to play at around the one minute mark in the second half.

Would you classify this under awesome or weird?

Definitely both. Nothing beats the Terence Jones phone ordeal though
