It has also been said that Bellevue may be cutting their Physical Education program from the school. This may have an effect on why he is leaving as well.

Welcome aboard.

Would you please expand on that possible cut some more?

I was told this is the reason he is leaving. So to answer the questions looks like he had no choice but to find a job.

Bellevue middle/high school will not have a health/physical education program starting next school year according to the new Bellevue superintendent . The money used for that program will go toward other things. Super says that if you play a sport or are in band that you will get a PE credit and if not involved in either of those you will get your PE credit on line

So if you play 3 sports you get 3 credits?

Interesting.......wonder if this will become a trend. Anybody know any other schools that give PE credit for playing a sport.

Would assume they would only get one credit.

Really interesting since Ky. has one of the highest rates of childhood obesity in the nation. Guess the students will get a good workout of fine motor skills while they type on the computer.

So if I have this right, the decision there is that it's a good thing for kids (who are not athletes or musicians) to get their "PHYSICAL" Education in front of a computer screen?

Would that not be like deciding that all ENGLISH classes should now be taught by instructors who only speak Spanish or French the whole time?

Oh well, good thing childhood obesity and type II diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, etc. aren't really that much a problem in our country. Oh... wait...

This also consist of the health program, that kentucky department t of education has standards that are to be addressed in classes.

Wonder if the band director/ para professional coaches are up to date on KDE standards for Physical education?

Would assume they would only get one credit.

Seems like administrators in lots of schools have lost focus of what's most important. Instead, it's all about achieving their agenda.

Cutting the PE/Health curriculum - wow. One step closer to consolidation.

Sure looks that way.

Coach Poynter told me this back last fall that it was a possibility. Its a shame. He will land somewhere if not a head coach on someones staff, closer to home.

I am not sure if it happens in Kentucky but I know when I was in high school in Texas this was the case. You played a sport it was considered a PE credit

It will be interesting to see if Bellevue has a PE teacher next fall.
