It's now April, I can't believe schools still have open jobs this long. Have they even started interviewing or anything. Anyone have any inside info.

 

Schools still have no idea what teaching positions they will have. If you are a coach, would you not want to know what your day job is going to be?

What do you want to do wait until school is out then the new coach have no idea of any players that are in the school. Or even have a meeting to try and get new kids out. The new coach would still have to build a staff and I am sure they have ideas of what teachers will be back and ones that wont be.

They screwed up getting rid of who they had. Obviously no one is beating down the door to take over. Should have been very happy with who and what you had.

I think it was a mutual split. If there is not a teaching job, it would be pretty hard to stay just on a coaching stipend.

Schools can create or do whatever they want to do. It just takes a Principal or Superintendent to say so.

Cant expect the coach to stay when they do away with his teaching spot. Only makes sense for him to move on.

I agree, but a school system if they want a person bad enough will do whatever it takes or to create a job or move them to another position.

That may have been the case years ago but very few school systems can do this anymore. That's why you see so many systems take the easy way out and hire someone on staff maybe less qualified or a local para-professional who will do the job. Some big school districts can still "create" or find positions but very few small schools can afford to do it.

Johnny is a good football coach and will have no trouble finding a job coaching football. It will be finding a teaching job that will be the challenge. Hopefully it will be closer than his current drive.

Bellevue Independent Schools with its declining enrollment has decided to do away with their PE program as a cost saving measure. They aren't creating a job position for a football coach. I believe that would be financially counter productive.

My opinion is this job will be filled by a para professional or a coach already drawing from the KTRS.

How can you do away with PE? PE is a requirement to graduate. How can the school justify that?

They put the kids in front of a computer to learn physical education. That's the state of the education world we're in.

I am a strong believer in school pride but at some point Bellevue and Dayton need to have their SB's sit together and figure this thing out.
