Chad Montgomery would be a good fit. He has HC experience and still bleeds black n Gold from what I understand.

 

Not sure a coach who is 9-35 is who Bellevue would go after. Some of those wins were against push overs in Brossart and Bracken co.

4 coaches in 6 years has almost decimated a once proud and vibrant program. I understand Coach Eckstein "left" to move up the ladder into administration, but the longest tenure of the next 3 coaches was 2 years. Is this simply terrible hiring on Bellevue's behalf or is something inherently wrong with job driving guys away? The community, and most importantly the players, deserve better.

I don't think you can hold someones record at Dayton against them, Steve Lickert wasn't exactly setting the world on fire there and he has done great. Coaches shouldn't be punished for coaching in tough jobs. Chances are nobody would have done much better there.

See your point but I was thinking of former Tigers. Montgomery doesnt have much at all to work with at Dayton. I dont think he was outcoached much.

He assisted at Scott when RJ Reigler was the head coach and when Casey Fisk was. He then went to Brossart when Matt Reinhardt was the coach then went back to Scott while Dave Campbell and Dan Wooley. He didn't coach high school this past year. He has been a head coach in semi pro football the past 6 years. His cousin said he was also on the ballot the past two years for the Cincinnati semi pro football hall of fame as a head coach.

No they are not related.

Coach Ford would make an excellent varsity head coach.

No coaching jobs are extra duty.

 

Now if they are tieing a teaching position to the coaching job, then yes the job must be posted. (unless the hire is currently on staff as a teacher/classified in the school district, then its an internal hire and no posting required)

I would love to see Coach Ford gets this job. Whatever school gives him his first opportunity will not be disappointed. My son loved him and said he was one of his favorite coaches he ever had.

I agree. Everything has been uphill coaching at Dayton since he got there; nothing has come easily. IMO, Dayton is fortunate to have someone like him there. People can talk about the record all they want, but there's been MANY challenges.
