I would have to think so...very low enrollment.

So how big is that addition to Newport High School. I mean, Newport isn't bringing in new families to warrant a new addition are they? Or is that free State money? So maybe it's in the works? Any inside info there???

 

Same state money any other district qualifies for in the building fund program. And Newport is going 7-12 at the high school in two years and will also be moving the intermediate school students to the middle school with the 6th grade. The 4th street building will be sold.

Just a guess, I would say both's enrollment to be around 200...

A merge will have to happen if things keep up as they are. I wouldn't be surprised if another county school is built for the northern part of the county. Honestly, I'm still surprised that it hasn't happened.

Probably.

Bellevue returns 15 of 22 starting positions, entire off line. Also Tucker Thomas will be a capable replacement at QB.

I like the Tucker Thompson kid. My son played basketball with him in middle school . He is very athletic and competitive, he should do well as qb. Good luck to him and the program !!!

I had the chance to see Tucker play, he looks like a good athlete and that he could help Bellevue down the road.

It is Tucker Thomas just an FYI.

 

Good genes, I played ball with his Dad back in the late 80's and he was a very skilled athlete.

Has Chad Montgomery, Sonny Rechtin, or Nick Wilson applied? I think this program needs an alum to take over and rebuild the roster, and help continue to move ths program in the right direction. Seems like someone who is willing to make a long-term committment to the program would be in Belllevue's best interest.

Wasn't Wilson already hired by Bellevue and let go from the AD position for some reason? Also, I thought I had heard through the grapevine that Montgomery applied a couple years back and did not get it in favor of an out of towner after being led to believe he had the inside track, and there may have been some hurt feelings there...

I think Wilson left (he wasn't let go) because of budget cuts that effected his teaching position. He was very effective as AD, especially in cleaning up the mess left by his predecessor. Like I said earlier, if a qualified alum applies, I think it could be a good step for Bellevue's program.

Chad Montgomery would be a good fit. He has HC experience and still bleeds black n Gold from what I understand.
