I clicked on the link wanting to read the article but it was blank. I think you have to be a member of the paper's site or something. That is why I asked what other coaches applied. So if you know, then I take it in the article you are talking about it stated that he was hired then right?

No, it just gave a list of the applicants. They were from several states. I clicked on the link last night and it worked. They could have restricted it since then.

Question for Trinity fans ... do you have an issue with Beatty looking elsewhere?

 

I ask because Covington Catholic got rid of their football coach this year and supposedly a big part of the reason why is he interview/applied for some other jobs in the past few off seasons. How does Trinity view Beatty considering other jobs?

 

Looking is fine. It's only when the choice to leave is made should there be any hurt feelings. I wouldn't take it personally, if Beatty chose to go, but I would be a little disappointed. He's built a good thing here. He has a strong, supportive community and I doubt Trinity is stinting on the money, even if the AK job pays more. I felt the same way, though less strongly, when Charlie Strong left U of L.

 

Still, if he does go, I would wish him the best.

I was finally able to get the article to show up. The links in this thread didn't work so I did a search on Google and it came up.

Cut me some slack, it's been a long time since I learned all the state abbreviations in middle school.

Can't ever fault anyone looking for maybe more money and what looks like a really interesting and good situation. It is America after all.....He has done a fantastic job at Trinity and would be missed. Understand he is a fan of the Ozarks which really are beautiful. But, the beat would go on and Trinity will continue to have success especially with the shift in who they would be playing in their district. Easier road in State of KY. I would think that Coach Coverdale would stay. Heard great things about his teaching, heard he was well liked by the kids and he(IMO) is a very good offensive coordinator. Agree that if he takes another job, you have to wish him the best and Godspeed and he would have ended his career at Trinity with a State Championship that was done with a senior class that worked hard for 4 years, had great senior leadership, and deserved that last win in Bowling Green.

I think the primary difference there is that even if Beatty is looking at other jobs, Beatty has not had any struggles relating with his players.

Downside for Beatty moving to Arkansas the cost of living in that area is crazy high. Or at least a few years ago it was. Had a buddy move out there for work for a few years and he said it was like he took 20% pay cut just because of housing cost. It may be better now.

 

On the plus side "AQ Chicken" in Springdale just down the road is incredible!!!
