No. The district zones, even at the elementary, middle, and Jr. high schools have been a sore point for years. They had to redraw them nearly every year over the last eight because of the growth and new schools being built. The high school was the constant because there was only one.

 

My guess is that there will be some leniency in the first three years with kids who started at BHS and have the desire to finish there (grandfather clause), but after that, it'll be pretty strict.

So if it splits the school in half, obviously they won't stay 7A, correct? What class will it move them down to? And if they retain most of the talent with a drop in class, it only seems to make sense that they could very well dominate a lower class division as well, correct? Maybe even more so than they do in 7A currently. Heck, when you look at it from that angle, it could very well be a "win win".

Wow. Split the largest high schools in KY in half and you are talking a good 2 class drop. But then again, we don't have anything approaching 3,600 either.

How would Bentonville do in a playoff system that included private schools? Are there any private schools like Trinity in Arkansas? Honest question, I don't really know anything about Arkansas high school football.

 

It seems Bentonville is like the Scott County job of KY if public schools in Kentucky had their own playoffs in Kentucky.

They have played some of the big boys in Texas I think and done well.

 

I would say they are more of what a 6A sized Highlands would be than 6A Scott County.

I do not think Coach Beatty is going to Bentonville. I understand there is talk of a new school being built and 7A will no longer be an option for either school in Arkansas. A similar situation changed Coach Beatty's view of the Valdosta, Georgia opening a few years back.

I'd say Trinity treats their coaching legends pretty darn well. It's not like they force them to step down in favor of an unproven HC or anything.

I had heard he did that, I have no clue. I thought he woul have to do something besides just coach. Unless he is retired from teaching and just hired as a coach.
