Because it's not the truth. I have been a long time supporter of Coach Pardue but he is not telling the truth about the administration. They have went above and beyond to support him in his tenure at MC.

 

From what I've heard, you are correct. Just thought it wasn't a good way to go. Oh well. Best of luck to Coach Pardue and best of luck to Mercer County Titans. Hopefully this break will be beneficial to both.

But not the same that oversaw all the mess prior to Rains, right? My impression was that Rains left because he got a pretty sweet deal to go somewhere else. Could be wrong.

 

Either way, Pardue is a really good coach and I thought they had the makings of a good staff. Going to be tough, moving forward for Mercer - though they are in a pretty light district in the next alignment.

You would think there will be some interest in this job... They have had some moderate success, recently, will usually have good athletes, and are moving into a manageable district with East Jessamine, West Jessamine, Taylor, & Marion.

I think David Buchanon is always on Mercer's radar whenever there is a coaching opening in the football program. In the past, he just couldn't walk away from Mason County, but I think I've heard that he is retiring from there this year. If so, would he consider coming home to Mercer County to help bring much-needed stability to the Titans program? He's a Mercer County graduate. Would seem to be a good move to come back home to be near family at this stage in his career.

Donald Wayne hasn't coached in a while but he has coached before so he does have experience. His son is a sophomore. I've heard he is interested.

 

I've heard Dennis Johnson is interested as well. I believe he is either in the Jessamine school system or Fayette County school system. I'm not sure if he coaches or not.

Dennis has been very successful as Jesse Clark's Middle School coach. I would like to see him get a chance. With the lack of overall success of the previous hires I don't see what it could hurt. He led the SEC in sacks and played in the NFL. He knows the game and is a great motivator He would put together a staff of former college football players. Might also bring some of the old Harrodsburg people back in the program that have had nothing to do with it since the merger. Would be nice if you could get Jason Dunn on the staff also. Former Harrodsburg guy that played 10+ years in the NFL with Eagles and Chiefs.
