Did the Patriots Use Deflated Footballs in AFC Championship Game?

He's got to be tied to New England in someway if he cheated. 2nd cousin once removed or something like that. :sneaky: Seriously though that is an interesting story however.

Give them credit for cheating? I don't think so.

However, I do give them credit when they work within the rules to outsmart the competition like against Baltimore.

That was sarcasm... I've always thought they were cheaters.

Heard this morning that the Colts noticed this the last time they played the Pats and after the interception in the AFC Title game they called the officials attention to it.

ESPN was discussing an old Brady interview in which he said he liked deflated ball.

Do Deflated Balls = Corked Bats?

To me yes. Anyone who has ever thrown a football knows how much easier it is to throw a deflated ball. That's why I think Brady is getting to much off the hook.

That is why I wonder how long it has been going on. I think if there was any evidence of this occurring the week before vs the Ravens then I would be very upset if I was a Ravens player or coach. That game was much closer and decided at the end of the game.

Maybe the tuck rule exposed Brady's small hands and a deflated ball would give him a much better grip.

IMO the NFL needs to absolutely hammer the Patriots for this. A few options that came to mind in order of what I would do...

1. Patriots forfeit and the win and the Colts play in the Super Bowl.

2. Patriots get to play but every Patriot that started on Offense in the AFC title game is suspended for the Super Bowl

3. More realistic...Darth Hoody is suspended for the Super Bowl and all of next season. The Patriots lose their 1st and 2nd round draft picks in the next draft. They are fined $1,000,000.

So my question is this... If they removed so many footballs, how did the Patriots actually play with under-inflated balls? Or did they?

"@MattLeinartQB: Every team tampers with the footballs. Ask any Qb in the league, this is ridiculous!!" 18 mins ago

This speaks to the broader steroid problem in the NFL: underinflated balls.

Checked at half time and then re-inflated them is what they said this morning.

Jerry Austin said that is what should happen but couldnt say it did. He didn't know for sure

Cowherd was just reporting on his show that sources have said that they were in fact re-inflated.

Just heard that. Doesn't change the fact that the Patriots had air taken out of the balls. If we are going to be serious about getting "cheating" out of the game you have to drop the hammer. If it's chalked up as gamesmanship then slap them on the wrist and let's move on.
