Couldn't watch

I also have a hard time watching. Enjoyed his sportscasting immensely, he was an original that took that job to another level and they are hard to replace. Very sad.

Couldn't watch

I probably couldn't have done it.

My best friend died of a massive heart attack in his early 40's. I occupied his 5 and 7 year-old daughters while his wife took care of arrangements. Barely held it together as a pallbearer a couple days later.

I could NOT have gone on national TV and gotten past the first sentence.

Greatest anchor of all time bar none. Loved his work. He will be truly missed.

Stewart Scott was "As cool as the other side of the pillow."

"You beat cancer by how you live"

Stuart seemed to have lived a great life, and definitely beat it. One of the best sportscasters there ever was. He will be missed

His ESPY speech was so good and when you hear about how sick he was before he gave it...it is even more amazing. He was really good at what he did and was not afraid to try new things. As someone said earlier, cancer SUCKS!

Booyah!

WOW. This is just terrible. Feel awful for his family and friends, 49 is just way to young.

Between the ages of 12-25 I'd bet I watched that man on tv more than any other actor or news anchor out there. Had so much charisma and passion for sports he made sports serious one minute and hilarious the very next. A special talent that will truly be missed.

VERY, very sad to hear this. We all knew it would eventually happen but in the face of the monster Scott carried himself with class and professionalism and like he said, "you beat cancer by how you live." I never tired of his delivery and persona on ESPN. His ESPY speech, like Jim Valvano's, should always be played. He was one of the greats and I for one will miss him. As dg21 posted, BOOYAH Stuart!! RIP.

There will never be another Stuart Scott. He changed ESPN for the better, forever.

Rest in peace.

Stuart Scott is one of the few sports casters that I really enjoyed watching. It sucks that he had to die so young. Rest in peace Stuart Scott.

I agree.

A few of you have mentioned, "As cool as the other side of the pillow." That was just brilliant.

Really hated hearing about this. Scott seemed like one of the good guys.
