Cats big. There is no one like Russ Smith at UL that can score. RoZier wil try but won't. UK is to long and that has troubled the Cards since Cals arrival. Close early but can see the Cats winning by +25

If Kentucky shoots the 3 and handles the press well, I don't see this being close.

However, if Kentucky can't shoot the 3, and/or the press gives them trouble....this one could be a lot closer than anticipated.

This.

If UK is hitting 3s and mid range shots, and handle the Cards press, they could win by 15 to 20 points. But if they have a perimeter game like the one against EKU then Louisville's zones could make a close game of it.

Of course, Louisville would have to be able to score, too, against the Cats to keep it close, and that has been a hard chore for UK's opponents so far this season.

It's hard to press if you can't score... Ul has had a hard time scoring this year against defenses that are nothing like Kentucky's.

I'm a sucker for an underdog. I'll take the Cards by 1. :D

An afternoon talk show said the Vegas line is UK -3? Can that be right?

I could be wrong, but I doubt the line has been set yet. Nothing is showing up on ESPN Insider or any other websites that usually post lines.

Here's a thread with everyone on BGP's predictions though:

Given how badly UK beat UCLA, I could see UK being a -5.5 to -7.5 point favorite opening up though. My theory: tons of public money may come in on UK, but I'd think that more sharp money will come in on Louisville once it gets inflated some. One bet that risks a ton of money can cover up lots of small ones quickly.

Vegas wise guy types are likely to see Kansas' thumping by Temple, Texas' home loss to Stanford last night, and UCLA's being a traditional power without lots of actual punch getting blown out in a nationally televised game and would probably see lots of value in letting the Kentucky side get as high as it can go, then jumping in on Pitino at home and getting 8 to 10 points, which would be a sweetheart of a deal, IMO.

If UK can keep shooting the 3 like they have then they can win by as many as they want. But UL's defense may be hard for them to do that, so I'll go UK-70

UL- 64

I really think it depends on how the refs call the game. Louisville hand checks and slaps a lot on the press, some officials let it go and some call everything. If they call it tight and that could certainly be the case because there will be emotions running high and they will probably want to keep the players in check I think U L gets in fouls trouble. I'll say UK by 8.

As of right now this is last ranked team UK will play all season.

Todd Fuhrman who used to run the sports book at Caesars says he has the line at 6. He's not setting lines anymore, but my guess is he's close.

Louisville jumps out to a 30-0 lead in the first 8 minutes, and Kentucky never recovers. Kentucky goes 0-72 from 3 point land.

Whew. You hadn't posted your dire prediction, & I was getting worried there for a minute.

So are you one of the guys who is more willing to bet on Louisville if they get 3 points than you are if they get 7?

I don't bet.
